Guest guest
Dear Prabhus, Please accept my humble obeisances at the lotus feet of Srila Prabhupada. om namo bhagavate vasudevaya om namo bhagavate vasudevaya om namo bhagavate vasudevaya Srimad-Bhagavatam 4.7.48-49 48) "Sri Maitreya said : After Lord Vishnu was glorified by all present, Daksha, his consciousness purified, arranged to begin again the yajna which had been devastated by the followers of Lord Shiva." 49) "Maitreya continued : My dear sinless Vidura, Lord Vishnu is actually the enjoyer of the results of all sacrifices. Yet because of His being the Supersoul of all living entities, He was satisfied simply with His share of the sacrificial offerings. He therefore addressed Daksha in a pleasing attitude." Srila Prabhupada teaches us (partial purport) : "... Although Vaishnavas accept Lord Vishnu as the Supreme, they are not prone to offend the demigods. They give the demigods proper respect. Vaishnavas accept Lord Shiva as the best Vaishnava. For a Vaishnava there is no possibility of offending any demigods, and the demigods are also pleased with the Vaishnava because they are faultless devotees of Lord Vishnu." ******************************************* Srila Prabhupada teaches us : Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.17.22 (partial purport) "...A devotee's conclusion is that no one is directly responsible for being a benefactor or mischief-monger without the sanction of the Lord; therefore he does not consider anyone to be directly responsible for such action. But in both the cases he takes it for granted that either benefit or loss is God-sent, and thus it is His grace. In case of benefit, no one will deny that it is God-sent, but in case of loss or reverses one becomes doubtful about how the Lord could be so unkind to His devotee as to put him in great difficulty. Jesus Christ was seemingly put into such great difficulty, being crucified by the ignorant, but he was never angry at the mischief-mongers. That is the way of accepting a thing, either favorable or unfavorable. Thus for a devotee the identifier is equally a sinner, like the mischief-monger. By God's grace, the devotee tolerates all reverses..." ******************************************** His Holiness Satswarupa das Goswami offers the following prayer in My Relationship With Lord Krsna : "My dear Lord Krsna, I have brought up most of the topics I could think of regarding my relationship with You. I speculated whether I will wholeheartedly turn to You at death. I claimed that I am following the verse, yat karoshi yad ashnasi. I said other things, too. I admitted I was afraid to come close to You because I am afraid You might ask me to renounce things that are dear to me. I repeated in my own words what the scriptures say about You, Your devotees, and those who seek qualitative oneness with You. Dear Lord, You give us the intelligence to approach You. You like to be surrounded by liberated devotees, and You take pleasure and interest when a soul comes to You. I want to say more. I want to make inroads in my understanding, and I want to approach You so I can worship You. I want to always think of You and never forget You. I never want to loose my connection with You, no matter what condition of life I am in. You are my all in all." (pp 64-65) ******************************************** S.B. 5-25-11 " Even if he be distressed or degraded, any person who chants the holy name of the Lord, having heard it from a bona fide spiritual master, is immediately purified. Even if he chants the Lord's name jokingly or by chance, he and anyone who hears him are freed from all sins. Therefore how can anyone seeking disentanglement from the material clutches avoid chanting the name of Lord Sesa? Of whom else should one take shelter? " Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare your servant...... ################################################################################
