Guest guest
Dear Prabhus, Please accept my humble obeisances at the lotus feet of Srila Prabhupada. om namo bhagavate vasudevaya om namo bhagavate vasudevaya om namo bhagavate vasudevaya Srimad-Bhagavatam 5.19.5 (partial purport) "... Another aspect of the teachings of Lord Ramachandra is that although Lord Vishnu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and His devotees may apparently suffer from material tribulations, they have nothing to do with such tribulations. They are mukta-purushas, liberated persons, under all circumstances. It is therefore said in the Chaitanya-bhagavata : .... A Vaishnava is always firmly situated in transcendental bliss because of engagement in devotional service. Although he may appear to suffer material pains, his position is called transcendental bliss in separation (viraha)...." Srimad-Bhagavatam 5.19.6 "Since Lord Sri Ramachandra is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Vasudeva, He is not attached to anything in this material world. He is the most beloved Supersoul of all self-realized souls, and He is their very intimate friend. He is full of all opulences. Therefore He could not possibly have suffered because of separation from His wife, nor could He have given up His wife and Lakshmana, His younger brother. To give up either would have been absolutely impossible." Srila Prabhupada continues to teach us (partial purport) : "In defining the Supreme Personality of Godhead, we say that He is full in all six opulences - wealth, fame, strength, influence, beauty and renunciation. He is called renounced because He is not attached to anything in this material world ; He is specifically attached to the spiritual world and the living entities there.... Since the Lord is always spiritually qualified, He is attached to servants who always render transcendental loving service unto Him. He is attached to the truth in life, not to brahminical qualities. Indeed, He is never attached to any material qualities. Although He is the Supersoul of all living entities, He is specifically manifest to those who are self-realized, and He is especially dear to the hearts of His transcendental devotees. Because Lord Ramachandra descended to teach human society how dutiful a king should be, He apparently gave up the company of mother Sita and Lakshmana. Factually, however, He could not have them up. One should therefore learn about the activities of Lord Ramachandra from a self-realized soul. Then one can understand the transcendental activities of the Lord." ***************************************** Bhagavad-gita 5.15 The Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krsna teaches us : "Nor does the Supreme Spirit assume anyone's sinful or pious activities. Embodied beings, however, are bewildered because of the ignorance which covers their real knowledge." Srila Prabhupada teaches us about us (partial purport) : "The Sanskrit word vibhuh means the Supreme Lord who is fill of unlimited knowledge, riches, strength, fame, beauty and renunciation. He is always satisfied in Himself, undisturbed by sinful or pious activities. He does not create a particular situation for any living entity, but the living entity, bewildered by ignorance, desires to be put into certain conditions of life, and therefore his chain of action and reaction begins. A living entity is, by superior nature, full of knowledge. Nevertheless, he is prone to be influences by ignorance due to his limited power. The Lord is omnipotent, but the living entity is not. The Lord is vibhu, or omniscient, but the living entity is anu, or atomic. Because he is a living soul, he has the capacity to desire by his free will. Such desireis fulfilled only by the omnipotent Lord. And so, when the living entity is bewildered in his desires, the Lord allows him to fulfill those desires but the Lord is never responsible for the actions and reactions of the particular situations which may be desired. Being in a bewildered condition, therefore, the embodied soul identifies himself with the circumstantial material body and becomes subjected to the temporary misery and happiness of life. The Lord is the constant companion of the living entity as Paramatma, or the Supersoul, and therefore He can understand the desires of the individual soul, as one can smell the flavor ofa flower by being near it. Desire is a subtle form of conditioning of the living entity. The Lord fulfills his desire as he deserves : Man proposes and God disposes. The individual is not, therefore, omnipotent in fulfilling his desires. The Lord, however, can fulfill all desires, and the Lord, being nutral to everyone, does not interfer with the desires of the minute independent living entities. However, when one desires Krsna one can attain to Him and be eternally happy.." ********************************* >From My Relationship Wih Lord Krsna by His Holiness Satswarupa das Goswami "Dear Lord, what does it mean to seek You? You have found me out wherever I go. You are best found in the direct places where You appear fully - in *hariman, in scripture, in the hearts and words of Your pure devotees, in the *archa-vigraha, in special places like Vrindavan and Mayapur. Here, I may feel separation from Radha-Shyma, just as an American immigrant might think back to this pretty shore where I am sitting, facing east. Why do I seek You out? You are already in my heart. You are Krsna. You are in my self. I don't mean that I have attained You, but my very self, that which is most precious and individual, is not apart from You. Srila Prabhupada said that I am a sample of God, a tiny spark of the whole. I seek to be joined with my beloved Supreme Lord. That is my desire, even if I can't express it properly..." (p. 67) ******************************************** The following is the translation of the song by Srila Lochana dasa Thakur titled "Dainya O Prapatti" - "Humility and Devotional Service" 1) O Hari! O my merciful Lord! All glories to You, the Lord of Radha! Many times I have avoided You, but this time please take me as Your own. 2) O Lord, after wandering through many wombs, I have taken refuge in You. Be merciful and deliver this wretched soul by Your divine power. 3) O lover of Radha, You are the cause of the universe and the life of the universe. Without You no one has anything. 4) You bring about auspiciousness for the world, and You are the master of all the worlds as well. O Lordm what will be my refuge if You neglect me? 5) I have considered that within this world there is no one except You who can deliver this fallen soul. Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare your servant.... ######################################################################
