Guest guest
Dear Prabhus, Please accept my humble obeisances at the lotus feet of Srila Prabhupada. om namo bhagavate vasudevaya om namo bhagavate vasudevaya om namo bhagavate vasudevaya Srimad-Bhagavatam 5.19.9 "[sukadeva Gosvami continued:] The glories of the Supreme Personality of Godhead are inconceivable. He has appeared in the form of Nara-Narayana in the land of Bharata-varsha, at the place known as Badarikashrama, to favor His devotees by teaching them religion, knowledge, renunciation, spiritual power, sense control and freedom from false ego. He is advanced in the opulence of spiritual assets, and He engages in executing asuterity until the end of this millennium. This is the process of self-realization." Srila Prabhupada teaches us (partial purport) : "... It is impossible to realize oneself simply by absorbing oneself in speculative and material activities. One must be very serious about self-realization and the practice of austerity. Unfortunately, the people of this age of Kali so not even know the meaning of austerity. Under these circumstances, the Lord has appeared as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to bestow upon the fallen souls the easiest method of self-realization, technically called cheto-darpana-marjanam, cleansing of the dirt from the core of one's heart. This method is extremely simple. Anyone can chant the glorious krsna-sankirtan- Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare Hare rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare...." ************************************ Nectar of Devotion, chapter 21, "Qualities of Krsna" "1. Beautiful Bodily Features Any comparison of the different parts of the Lord's body to different material objects cannot factually be a complete comparison. Ordinary persons, who cannot understand how exalted are the bodily features of the Lord, are simply given a chance to understand by a material comparison. It is said that Krsna's face is as beautiful as the moon, His thighs are powerful just like the trunks of elephants, His arms are like two pillars, His palms are expanded like lotus flowers, His chest is just like a doorway, His hips are dens, and the middle of His body is a terrace." ************************************** Bhagavad-gita As It Is, 5.16 The Supreme Lord Sri Krsna tells us : "When, however, one is enlightened with the knowledge by which nexcience is destroyed, then his knowledge reveals everything, as the sun lights up everything in the daytime." Sila Prabhupada teaches us (very partial purport) : "...One has to learn the distinction between God and the living entity. Lord Sri Krsna therefore stated in the Second Chapter (2.12) that every living being is individual and that the Lord also is individual. They were all individuals in the past, they are individuals at present, and they will continue to be individuals in the future, even after liberation. At night we see everything as one in the darkness, but in the day when the sun is up, we see everything in its real identity. Identity with individuality in spiritual life is real knowledge." **************************************** from My Relationship With Lord Krsna, by His Holiness Satswarupa das Goswami (continued) "...By observation, guided by the shastras (scriptures), we can see You, Krsna, as time, destroying everything within the material world. We should not remain in that kind of relationship with You where we prey upon others until we get crushed by You in Your form as time and death. How can the human beehive find relief? People should realize that nothing is permanent in this material world. Therefore, their greedy desires are futile. People should take shelter of You. You say in Bhagavad-gita, 'A person in full consciousness of Me, knowing Me to be the ultimate beneficiary of all sacrifices and austerities, the Supreme Lord of all planets and demigods, and the benefactor and well-wisher of all living entities, attains peace from the pangs of Material miseries.' (Bg.5.29)..." ***************************************** Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare your servant...:-) #####################################################################
