bhakti-prahva-vilokana-praNayinii

niilotpala-spardhinii

 

dhyaanaalambanataam samaadhi-niratair niite

hite-praaptaye

 

laavaNyaika-mahaa-nidhii rasikataaM raadhaa-dR^ishos

tanvatii

 

yuSmaakaM kurutaaM bhavaarti-shamanaM netre tanur vaa

hareH

 

bhakti-with devotion; prahva-bowed down; vilokana-with

the sight; praNayinii-affectionate; niila-blue;

utpala-lotus flowers; spardhinii-rivalling;

dhyaana-meditation; aalambanataam-support; samaadhi-in

meditation; nirataiH-by those who are engaged;

niite-attained; hita-of auspiciousness; praaptaye-for

the attainment; laavaNya-of beauty; eka-one;

mahaa-great; nidhii-abode; rasikataam-love; raadhaa-of

shriimatii raadhaaraanii; dR^ishoH-of the eyes;

tanvatii-expanding; yushmaakam-of you; kurutaam-may He

create; bhava-of the material world; aarti-of the

distresses; shamanam-the quelling; netre-eyes;

tanuH-form; vaa-or; hareH-of Lord Hari.

 

 

This verse may be interpreted for either Lord

kR^iS^Na.as eyes or form. The two possible

translations follow.

 

Translation 1:

"May Lord Hari's eyes, which lovingly gaze on the

devotees, which rival the splendor of blue lotuses, on

which the yogiis meditate to attain auspiciousness,

which are two great oceans of handsomeness, and which

fill raadhaa.as eyes with the nectar of love, quell

for you the sufferings of material life."

 

Translation 2:

"May Lord Hari's form, on which the devotees lovingly

gaze, which rivals the splendor of blue lotuses, on

which the yogiis meditate to attain auspiciousness,

which is a great ocean of handsomeness, and which

fills

raadhaa.as eyes with the nectar of love, quell for you

the sufferings of material life." - shrii saaraNga
