ye govardhana-mUla-kardama-rasa-vyAdR^iSTa-barhA.ngadA

 

ye vR^indAvana-kukSiSu vraja-vadhU-nIlopadhAnA_ni ca

 

ye cAbhyA.nga-sughandhayaH kuvalayApIDasya dAnAmbhasA

 

te vo ma.ngalam Adishantu satataM kaMsa-dviSo bAhavaH

 

ye-which; govardhana-of govardhana hill; mUla-from the

base; kardama-rasa-with mud; vyAdR^iSTa-observed;

barha-peacock feather; a.ngadAH-bracelets; ye-which;

vR^indAvana-of vR^indAvana; kukSiSu-in the depths;

vraja-of vR^indAvana; vadhU-of the wives; nIla-dark;

upadhAnA_ni-pillows; ca-and; ye-which; ca-and;

abhya.nga-with aromatic substances;

sugandhayaH-fragant; kuvalayApIDasya-of kuvalAypIDa

elephant; dAna-ambhasA-with the liquid which flows

from the temples of a maddened elephant; te-they;

vaH-to you; ma.ngalam-auspiciousness; Adishantu-may

show; satatam-always; kaMsa-of kaMsa; dviSaH-of the

enemy (shrI kR^iSNa); bAhavaH-arms.

AbhIrI-of gopIs; vR^inda -of the multitude;

cetaH-minds; haTha-forcibly; haraNa-enchanting;

kalA-trick; akSarANi-syllables;

saubhAgyam-blessedness; vaH-to you;

samantAt-completely; dadhatu-may grant; madhu-of the

Madhu demon; bhidaH-of the destroyer (shrI kR^iSNa);

sthalam-dry land; jaladhitAm-the state of being the

ocean; dhUli-of dust; lavaH-a particle; shailatAm-the

state of being a mountain; shailaH-a mountain;

mR^it-kaNatAm-the state of being a particle of dust;

tR^iNam-a blade of grass; kulishatAm-the state of

being a thunderbolt; vajram-a thunderbolt; tR^iNa-as a

blade of grass; kSINatam-the state of being

insignificant; vahniH-fire; shItalatAm-the state of

being cool; himam-snow; dahanatAm-the state of being

able to burn; AyAti-goes; yasya-of whom; icchhayA-with

the wish; lIlA-pastimes; durlalita-mischievous;

adbhuta-wonderful; vyasanine-attached to performing;

kR^iSNAya-to kR^iSNa; tasmai-to Him; namaH-I offer

respectful obeisances.

fearlessness; pradAna-gift; samayAt- because of the

promise; Arta-of the distressed; Arti-of the distress;

nirvApaNAt-because of the negation; audAryAt-because

of generosity; agha-sins; shoSaNAt-because of the

removal; agaNita-immeasurably; shreyaH-auspicious;

pada-position; prApaNAt-because of the gift;

sevyaH-should be served; shrI-of the goddess of

fortune (shrImatI rAdhArANi); patiH-the lord (shrI

kR^iSNa); eva-certainly; sarva-all; jagataM-by the

universes; ete-these; yataH-because;

sAkSinaH-witnesses; prahlAdaH-prahlAda; ca-and;

vibhISaNaH-vibhISaNa; kari-rAT-gajendra, king of the

elephants; pAJNcAlI-draupadI; ahalyA-ahalyA;

dhruvaH-dhruvaH.

 

“Because he is very affectionate, he promises to give

fearlessness to his devotees, he removes his devotees'

sufferings, he is generous, he takes away his

devotees' sins, and he bestows limitless

auspiciousness, and because prahlAda, vibhISaNa,

gajendra, draupadI, ahalyA, and dhruva tesify to these

virtues, Lord kR^iSNa, the husband of the goddess of
