Dear devotees,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I'm begging you to help me. I urgently needed "The classification of

Friends". Tomorrow (Saturday) we have a Nama-hatta program and we

wanted to discuss friendship: Who's a friend in material world? Who's

a friend from Krsna angle of view? and so on and so forth. And in this

connection I remembered a classification I was given by one devotee.

He told that there're five types of friends: 1) bandhu -- just a

friend, comrade... I don't remember the explanations. And the fifth is

su-hrid -- a friend who feels all wories of others as his own ones.

(Like Krsna says, "su-hrdam sarva bhutanam".)

So, could anyone remind me those five levels of friendship? This's

very urgent.

Thank you.

I know of 3 kinds of friendship which Srila Prabhupada

mentioned in a lecture. Suhrt, Mitra and Bandhu. To quote Him"There are

different names in Danskrit for different kinds of friends. One friend is

called a bandhu, one is called mitra and one is called Suhrt. So Krishna says

," I am suhrt, which means "such a friend". A friend sincerely wants your

happiness.A Suhrt is a real friend and mitra is socila friendship. Bandhu is

official friendship. But Suhrt means one actually desires good for his friend.-"

sincere friend" Krishns is Suhrt. He's always wishing my good, and He is

therefore canvassing me, " Please, you surrender unto me".( Lecture, october

14, 1968, Seattle)

I am aware of only the three kinds of friendship, from

the source I had quoted. I am not aware of the five kinds.
