Guest guest
Dear Devotee family, As the long drawn year rolls to an end I feel it is time to contemplate upon that which is past and that which is coming. I feel very special bond with people that are scattered around the world yet revolves around the central nuclei Sri Srila Prabhupada. His divine grace have physically departed from this planet almost 25 years ago and yet he has not left us. He lives among us and with us through his " VANI "or messages. Our Prabhupada had a very special mission of mercy, he had a calling, it was a call to return back to Godhead the most fallen in this age of Kali. Prabhupada was empowered and that is the reason why in the ripe old age of almost seventy he came to the west practically penny less to fulfill his Guru's order. He did not wanted us to suffer in this cold cruel world known as DUKHYA LOYA or a place of perpetual sorrow. He did not wanted us to have the illusion that some how or the other we can be happy in this turbulent temporary mortal planet. It was only He who could deliver such potent messages of the Vedas and again it was only He who gave us the gift of understanding. Above all he proved all that he claimed by citing references in the Vedas and then he worked tirelessly to put his knowledge in writing. Through his writings he live among us even today and not let us be confused by the attack of our adversaries. Prabhupada never compromised his principle, did not deviate an inch from his mission and yet seeing our horrible fallen state he was the embodiment of highest compassion. He cared and nurtured us, when we were most vulnerable he protected us, when we went astray he took the burnt of our misdeed and when we crawled back to him he forgave us. He was most gentle to us and yet when need be he roared like a lion and destroyed the impersonalists and others who claimed themselves to be God. Prabhupada was Christ like and I bear testimony to that because I was present with him on many occasions. He did for us what no man has done before and yet we remain the most ungrateful. Unfortunately it is true that some of Prabhupada's ex disciples have fallen and some have even turned aginst him but that is not a reflection on a great Guru. History is littered with such parallels that some will resort to blasphemy and act in a heinous manner. The most resent analogy is the ongoing controversy in the Roman Catholic church. The Pope is not to be blamed for the bad act of a few rotten apples. People who blasphame the sinless do so at their own risk and also become liable for all the adverse Karma. On the flip side of all these are also a very bright side. There are many dedicated men and women who are answering to Srila Prabhupada's call. They are carring out his mission and message. They are unwavered by externities and gradually but surely working them up to qualify for the kingdom of God. Maya is very strong but not insurmountable and with Prabhupada's blessing and KRSNA's mercy we can very easily be victorious. In conclusion, as the new year dawn upon us I would humbly like to suggest a new resolution.I want to wish upon my Devotee family to do what is in our best interest. That is take KRSNA's immortal words, Shastras direction, Prabhupada's guiding light and our own endeavor to set us free. Time is very precious and short , before it run out on us please let us help each other to complete the journey. I wish you well. Your Servant, Ashokamrita.
