We're all born as mlecchas, in meat-eating families, etc." Srila Prabhupada cut him off and said, "That was all superficial. As soon as you heard the Holy Name, you came running." _____________ Hare Krishna. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Even after such a great Acharya as our beloved Srila Prabhupada has shown the way a genuine devotee should behave, us insignificant little souls are STILL trying to find fault with great Acharyas like Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, Gaurkishore Das Babaji and Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur, by talking about how they had taken initiation, whether they had meat in their lives before getting initiation, whether they are genuine because they are not shown as wearing their sacred thread etc. Prabhus, we ought to be ashamed of ourselves for this vaishnava aparadh and especially guru aparadh, since these we are in the same line as these great Acharyas, so they are our gurus. At no time will any member be made to feel ashamed for politely expressing doubts." As moderator, I stand behind this, and I will not label someone as "offensive" who merely has a question or doubt. Having said that, as a list member, I personally feel that those who come to an incorrect conclusion about Srila Bhaktisiddhanta position are certainly adopting an offensive mentality. However, even then, I invite such persons to discuss their point of view with us for two reasons: (1) You can only gain conviction in your views after having seen the alternative views and having dealt with them, (2) because even offensive misconceptions can only be removed by dealing with them head on, not simply by labelling them as "offensive" and dismissing them, and (3) because list members will be exposed to these kinds of misconceptions outside, and it would be better for them to see them here and be prepared for them. So far, I don't see much counter-argument from the babaji party, which leads me to believe that their objections are in fact without substance. But they are welcome to discuss their views, subject to the Achintya rules which require everyone to maintain a polite tone and refer to shaastra.]
