Dear Prabhus,

 

Regarding whether or not Srila Bhaktisiddanta Saraswati is delivering the

real thing - and how could he unless he was authentically connected to Krishna

in a manner acceptable to Krishna - the proof is ultimatley in the pudding as

has been already suggested. For the sake of the argument, even if the Gaudiya

line has been 90% maintained in India by Babajis, as appears to be claimed by

some, Krishna Consciousness is meant for the entire world and not just India

which makes only up a portion of it. It is now an established historic fact

that the only reason Mahaprabhus' mission to liberate the rest of the world is

being realized is because of the work of Tridandi Goswami Bhaktisiddhanta

Saraswati Thakura, and his disciples. Internationally speaking, it is

specifically through the efforts of Tridandi Goswami A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami

Prabhupada. Srila Prabhupada describes the advanced first class vaisnava as

being somewhat aloof from preaching but who comes down from the so-called first

class position to the second or Madyama Adhikari platform to preach. That does

not mean that one who does not come to the preaching platform may not be first

class, but one must appreciate it from the drowning persons' perspective. For

example, sometimes at the beach a person is drowning and a lifeguard saves

them. Although there may even be more expert swimmers around on the beach, the

credit goes the person who actually saves you. Always. And those who are

supposedly more expert swimmers are not seen to help, they usually get

criticized by the public. That is natural. If someone on the beach convinces

the lifeguards to give up saving lives for being a "babaji", then who will save

the drowning person? If those of us who were drowning in an ocean of material

existence had to depend upon the Babaji philosophers to save us, we would all

be dead by now. So thank you very much for sharing your realizations of how to

save the conditioned souls inside India, or more correctly inside parts of India

(many Western devotees who have preached in India have introduced Mahaprabhu to

people and places for the first time), but the majority of us live outside it,

and we will take our example from the paravrajakacharya tridandi gowamis who,

at great personal inconvenience, spread the Krishna Consciousness movement all

over the world. No offense intended to anyone, but preaching is done according

to time, place, and circumstance - personally, I remain unconvinced that the

babaji approach has been working that great for the overwhelming vast majority

of conditioned souls.
