Regarding the Gaudiya Matha and/or ISKCON, why should one even take seriously what is implied by the claims of those who ostensibly represent the gosvami/babaji alliance--that our unprecedentedly empowered acaryas have no valid connection to the parampara, are teaching a concocted doctrine, or are in general "unauthorized"? The authority of the Gaudiya-sarasvata line is far more obvious than any official imprimatur offered by a so-called "orthodoxy" that has practically been asleep at the wheel for over a hundred years. The astonishing success of Srila Prabhupada alone proves the worth of his parampara. If someone ardently seeks reasons to avoid the association of pure devotees who will always emphasize surrender to our invariably difficult mandate of practical, cooperative preaching work--and in my experience, this seems to be one of two chief reasons ISKCON devotees get distracted by other Gaudiya traditions (the other being that they simply can't follow the regulative principles)--then most likely all their lofty "theological" objections don't really have so much significance anyway. At the very least, one must consider this honestly. It isn't my purpose to denigrate any other Gaudiya Vaisnavas, nor did I initiate this discussion, but I think history has clearly shown that for His own reasons, Lord Krsna saw fit to empower the follwers of Thakura Bhaktivinoda, Bhaktisidddhanta Sarasvati and Srila Prabhupada, to fulfil His own desires (cf., Caitanya-bhagavata Antya, 4.126, etc.) most of all. Any pure Vaisnava should be happy to accede this and glorify them (as Vallabhacarya did)--or as the case probably is, to at least admit our indebtedness to them. So maybe the real question is--why don't they? MDd
