Guest guest
> Group, I think there are some who think that the idea that we are not the doers is for the realized person and not for the unenlightened..Nothing can be farther from the truth..People like to talk about Karma..How our deeds or actions determine our destiny..I live in a small town in India and I find that most of the people have the same traits and talk about the same things and act in the same idiotic ways.. So it just goes to show that people act and behave according to their conditioning.. People from a western society prefer a non vegetarian diet to a vegetarian one.. Society has invented a moral code or dharma and this code varies from region to region.. What is right in one society for instance the practice of Sati (immolating a woman on the funeral pyre of her dead husband)is condemned in other societies.. Discrimination against people of a lower caste has religious sanction in one society but is called apartheid in one society and is condemened as being wrong.. So the point I am trying to make is that one becomes a cannibal if one is born into a community where cannibalism is practiced. So we believe we have the right to chosse between what is right and wrong but we don't..That is why over half of Germany sided with a party that thought it was ok to wipe out an entire race.. In India a poltical party that thinks it is ok to discriminate against minorities and even exterminate them was voted to power in its recent history by the majority. Our conditioning or karma makes us what we are..Good and bad are just concepts..In order to know God we need to first of all negate all the arisings of our mind.. Whatever arises is not you. alec Visit your group " Terms of Service.
Guest guest
Om Namo Bhagavate Sri Ramanaya I strongly object to the following comment made by Mr. Alakeshwar Jayanarayan. I am really surprised to read such irresposible political comments in our RamanaMaharshi group. " ........ In India a poltical party that thinks it is ok to discriminate against minorities and even exterminate them was voted to power in its recent history by the majority ....." I humbly request moderators to discourage this type of irresponsible posts. Guest guest
Dear fellow Travelers, The only reason I request that members apply restraint in posting views on worldy matters is to respect the interest of the members who have joined this group, who are followers of Bhagavan Ramana's teachings and who are seeking inspiration from fellow travellers on the spiritual path. I am sure our fellow members will find other groups to exchange their views on political or other matters May Bhagavan guide us in our struggle for Eternal Peace! Sivaramakrishna Terms of Service. Guest guest
anbu Dora, Indeed, it is the moderators' policy to edit out such matters, in accordance with our list guidelines: "Please note that this list is apolitical, please do not attempt to initiate divisive discussions." This one perhaps 'slipped through the net'; perhaps Alekeshwar acted through the best of intentions, who knows? Please rest assured that it is most certainly not our policy to allow any political views on this list. We reiterate that all posts on this list are devoted to Sri Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi, his life, his writings, his works and anything directly connected with him. Thanks very much for your vigilance in bringing this matter to our attention. anbudan John RamanaMaharshi, swathi dora <doraksp wrote: > > Om Namo Bhagavate Sri Ramanaya > I strongly object to the following comment made by Mr. Alakeshwar Jayanarayan. Guest guest
Moderators should consider discouraging members from using the forum to propagate their personal agenda. We all have a lot of conditioning (personal and social) which has made us forget our real Self. This group's aim is to shed the conditioning and realise the Self. I agree with Ms Dora that the mail of Mr Jayanarayan had a hidden agenda reflecting strong social conitioning. Sachin Terms of Service.
