Student's talk On... Vision of Love... by Sri C.Sreenivas

Sri C. Sreenivas,M.Com.,M.Phil., is a member of the Sri Sathya Sai Central

Trust. A Brilliant orator and a keen sportsman, he is from among the oldest

batches of students, Sri sathya sai College at Brindavan. He has served the

college as lecturer and also was the warden of the students of hostel at

Brindavan.

One afternoon in the summer of 72, it was my privilege to sit at the feet of our

Lord in Prashanthi.Nilayam. As a student then, this was the ultimate that could

happen to me, to sit at His feet and watch Him.

 

He asked me, "Do you know what your most dear and cherished desire is?

 

The unexpected question left me speechless. His most kindly offered to answer.

The matters of the heart have a strange language, not spoken,yet understood.

 

He asked me for a glass of water and a piece of white paper. I gave both to Him.

He rolled the paper thin like a pencil and immersed it into the glass of water.

He put the roll into the left pocket of my shirt and asked me to unroll it. I

removed it and began to give to Him.He said, "No! No! read it"

 

In beautiful handwriting, I could see on the wet paper clearly written, of

course by some unseen hand... "Grant me the strength to love you with all my

heart".

 

Love and loving, has always been the most important thing in my life, and truly

loving Bhagavan has been my heart's closest and dearest desire. I, came to him

for elementary education, and got from Him enchanting enlightening.

 

It has been the lesson of lessons to learn that, beyond all that there is in

this world, He is was and will always exist. It is good to have money, in this

world, and the things that money can buy. However, in the process of acquiring

money, we tend to lose sight of the lovely things that money cannot buy. After

all 'man does not live by bread alone' and neither does nation by its GNP.

 

Bhagavan has come to open man's eyes to this sight. His advent is to elevate

both physical and mental disease and elevate us into the eternal wisdom of

universal oneness. 'Living' in the world has to upgrade itself to 'Life' herein.

 

Life spring, sustains and grows from the fountain of Love. To love God alone is

life fulfillment.

 

I have been seeking this fulfillment like everyone else in my own way. May we

succeed in our endeavors. Eventually we must not just love to live, but also

live to love. His life is an incessant labour of love. What more can I say of

His love than-

 

"For thy sweet love remembered such wealth brings that then I, scorn to change

my state even with Kings" - Williams Shakespear.

 

O Baba! Grant us the gift of strength to love you

with all our hearts.

For nothing this wide universe I call

save thee, my Lord, who art my all.
