Guest guest
the 25th, Sunday afternoon, after a long gap, Swami came outside and sat on the dais. Thanks to a half an hour Bhangra dance programme organized and performed by the Institute students. A Bhangra dance teacher from Punjab was here for the past ten days or so, who offered his services to train these boys with the basic steps of Bhangra. The programme packaged a set of dance steps depicting a typical village scene starting from the sowing of the seeds in the farm to the joyous time of harvesting. For, after all, the Punjabis dance the Bhangra to celebrate the harvesting season. There were around 26 dancers. On the same day, Puttaparthi had become a very important place for many ministers. The Government of Andhra Pradesh is making arrangements to facilitate the movement and comfortable stay of devotees during the 80th birthday celebrations of Bhagawan Sri Satya Sai Baba on a grand scale at Puttaparthi this November. A cabinet sub-committee - comprising ministers K. Rosaiah, J. Geetha Reddy, N. Raghuveera Reddy, J. C. Diwakar Reddy and special invitee Home Minister K. Jana Reddy - held a review meeting with officials here on Sunday. The ministers also had two audiences with Bhagawan, in the morning as well as in the evening. As reported in "The Hindu", 26th Sep 2005, "the administration has decided to deploy about 3,000 police personnel for the event. About 300 APSRTC buses would be run to Puttaparthi from different parts of the State during the fete and 20 teams of doctors would be formed for the occasion. The district administration was directed to complete arrangements like formation or widening of roads, and repairing sanitation system by October 31st."
