Guest guest
Dear Shashi Bansal,

I am not a doctor, but as a yoga teacher I would recomend you to do exercises which strengthen the muscles in your thighs and lower leg. Strong muscles can take away a lot of the burden that effect the knies.

1. You should lay on the ground on you back and lift the leg a few centimeters. Then strain all the muscles in the left and bend your foot that the toes show towards your face. Keep this position for a about 1 minute and then let go and relax the left leg. Lay it on the ground again. Do the same with the right leg.

Do this exercise about 5 times daily. And relax the legs.

2. Salt is also very good against Osteoarthritis.
It would be very good if you could go to a swimming-pool with thermal-water that is heated about 32 - 34 degrees centigrad. If you don't have such a possibility then you could put salt in a bath tub and lay in that for about 15 - 20 minutes. The salt takes away the pain. I don't know how much salt you put in one tub, but it should taste like sea water.

3. You could also do an other exercise:

Lay on the ground. Keep the uper and lower back on the ground and inhale and lift the left leg up. Continue breathing normaly and circle the foot in one direction and then in the other direction. With the next exhale lower the left leg and relax the leg on the ground. Do the same with the right leg.

4. Lay on your back. Keep the uper and lower back on the ground and inhale and lift the left leg up. Continue breathing normaly and bed the foot that the toes show towards your face and then towards the ceiling. With the next exhale lower the left leg and relax the leg on the ground. Do the same with the right leg. Relax the right leg.

5. You can also help yourself by visualizing
that these exercises will help you. You need
to activate the healing power in your boby.

6. Riding a byc is also very good for the knees, because the movement increases the production of
gristle or cartilage between the bones.

7. Movement is very important for your joints, otherwise the joints will get stiff very soon.

If you do the exercises then you should feel
much better. But you have to do the exercises regulary. And it would be very good if you
could also consult a physio therapist, who could examine you leg and do the exercises with you.

Well I wish you good luck and good health.

Best regards,
dmalavalli
