Guest guest
Dear Venkat, It is true that there are many ayurvedic medicine which are prepared from metals. But they undergo various processes which makes them safe for human consumption. Previously there was no control over preparation of these drugs and so there were some elements who used to take shortcuts in the preparation leading to various harmful side- effects. The benefits of well made bhasmas and the dangers of those which are not prepared properly are well documented in ayurvedic texts. Today there are anumber of companies whih employ various modern process to prepare authentic medicine and also check them for efficacy and toxicity. Hence there is no harm intaking these medicines if prescribed by an ayurvedic practioner and prepared by reputed companies (Baidyanath, Zandu, Sandu, Dhootpapeshwar Etc). Also among the 2 medicines suggesyted for you only one is metallic in nature i.e. abhraka (mica). Praval is powdered coral and is organic in nature. If you inform me where you live I can suggest you the names of companies in your are which provide authentic bhasmas. Cybervaidya
