Please see message No. 504, which extensively discusses how to

cultivate creativity of the mind through diet.

Generally Kapha is related to 'satva', 'Pitta' to Rajas and 'Vata' to

Tamas. The group file stored under the name 'Food_Properties.doc'

contains the evaluation of various foods by ancestors. If you read

column titles in terms of Gunas rather than Doshas, it may be easier

to understand the evaluation. If one chooses foods which balances all

doshas, health should result. And those pacifying Vata and Pitta

should increase Kapha, satva.

Since writers, novelists, drama artists have great imagination and

creative minds, they need both satva and rajas, since they must

boldly express the creativity of their mind. Ayurveda belives that creative

growth requires Kapha, Satva. When Kapha gets adequately digested, higher dhatus

result.

The increase in creativity also needs Sapt Dhatu Pushti. Those who have high

creativity, also have good strength of Sapt Dhatus. The last dhatu 'Veerya' gets

wrong direction if 'Rajas' guna takes over and creativity expressed by 'sex'

energy misdirects to indulgence rather than literary art creation.

Hence, 'Rajas' guna needs to be controlled. This guna desires best material

luxuries and their continued avaialability. You may note that best creations of

history were created by sage who were satvic and lived in dire powerty happily.

The foods can then be chosen accordingly.
