Guest guest
Does anyone know of a non-surgical cure for cataracts that works? I have used an herbal eyewash which is supposed to produce results nut it is clearly not working, I have also tried Reiki, but no effect that I can discern. I am currently uneployed wit no insurance and no end in sight, so am trying to avoid surgery. It was with interest that I noted the post on Borderline Personality Disorder since I was curiously unaware that this was treated medically. (There are books on the psychoanalytic treatment of this disorder but one common trait of all the personality disorders is that they tend not to be treated successfully using psychotherapy.) There is a school of psychiatry called "orthomolecular" which claims to have had results by regarding psychiatric disorders as the result of the inability of some systems to properly metabolize some nutrients. (Other conditions such as allergic toxicity can according to them result in psychiatric syndromes.) It is well known, for example, that a deficiency of niacin will produce psychotic symptoms in normal people. An examination and blood tests are required to determine what protocol would be appropriate but this system is unpopular with mainstream allopathic physicians because it does not employ drugs, which are the basis of all allopathic medicine. Guest guest
Hi Steve to some extent its a matter of knowing what type of cataract (kacha) you have - ayurveda describes six types one caused by trauma (head injury, bright light) and five caused by the doshas, mostly classified on the basis of the color of the lens surgery was also traditionally prescribed as well, but most Ayurvedic physicians don't know how to do this anymore without knowing specifics you can make some triphala ghritam as a general treatment simply obtain some quality triphala powder (packed in the last year) one part decocted in 4 parts (by volume) ghee, and 16 parts (by volume) water put the powder and the ghee in a pot and mark the level with a chopstick or something else add 16 parts water and bring to a boil, reduce to simmer, and decoct the remaining water away check the level periodically, and when the level gets down to the level you marked on the chopstick, take a little water and sprinkle on the surface of the ghee if it splutters and hisses, all the water is gone - if not, continue decocting until there is no more water allow to cool, and then strain once with a metal mesh strainer and then next with some clean, sterile linen when strained, put into a clean, sterile vessel, and store in a dark cool place each night before bed take a half tsp (using a clean, sterile spoon) of the this preparation and instill in the affected eye and go to bed alternately or in addition you can use a well-filtered infusion of triphala as an eyewash, in the morning (and evening without using the ghee preparation), using an eye-cup for this mix 1 tsp of triphala in hot water and let steep for 10 minutes strain with linen and when cool apply as an eye rinse a traditional western herbal formula is one part each eyebright, goldenseal, raspberry leaves and half part cayenne pepper, prepared as an infusion, strained well, and used as an eyewash all the above also helpful for glaucoma you should also take triphala internally, with some trivrit if constipated yogarajaguggulu can be helpful too, as can extra amalaki there may thyroid problems, so the guggulu above can be of help, as well as iodine and b vitamins of course EFAs and vit A are key to eye health eat lots of blueberries and for almost all eye dz i recommend a low carb diet (cataracts specifically related to hyperglycemia) best... Guest guest
My goodness, thanks for all the interesting information. I think the type I have is posterior. I have brown eyes and have not used a low carb diet thus, far so that is probably it. Also genetic, my mother and sister both had cataracts. Any leads on where to get all this stuff you mentioned?
