Guest guest
dear Mayuri i should add that excessively warming therapies on obviously not recommended during menopause, e.g. ginger, cayenne etc. best herbs include those that nourish ojas, e.g. shatavari, peony root, chasteberry (nirgundi seed), rehmannia root, licorice root, dang gui root, ashvangandha root, he shou wu root, along with liver herbs like barberry root, guduchi vine, dandelion root, buplerum root etc. phytoestrogens can also be helpful, such as fermented soy and sprouted seeds and beans such as alfalfa, clover and mung pomegranates fruit (not rind, i.e. dadima) too contain phytoestrogens - enjoy! to reduce the flushing specifically use anti hydrotics (antisweating) such as sage, astragalus, and schizandra berry typical formula i use in my clinical practice might be: shatavari 2 parts peony 2 " chasteberry 2 " black cohosh 2 " barberry 1 part sage 1 " licorice 1 " as powders, 3-5 g 2-3x day as decoction (add sage at the end to infuse - do not boil), 100 mL 2-3x day as tinctures, 3-5 mL 2-3x day along with a diet rich in phytoestrogens described above, omega 3 fats, lots of good fiber and vegies, and adequate fats and protein best..
