Guest guest
AYURVEDA by NOEL GILBERT Ayurveda is the oldest medical system on earth. It can be traced as far back as 5,000 years and some people believe it to be as much as 10, 000 years old. If you research the origin of any medicine it will lead you back to Ayurveda. This is why it is considered the mother of all medicine. The word itself "Ayurveda" means the science of life or the knowledge of longevity. The literature of Ayurveda is so extensive it is said that it takes 50 years of studying to become a master of the art. >From an Ayurvedic point of view all dis-ease is created by a lack of awareness of our true nature. Ignorance, the freedom to ignore our true nature, leads to destructive choices, therefore creating imbalance, or lack of harmony in life. Peace with out harmony is complacency; and at very best short lived. Real peace is but a mear byproduct of harmony. It is only when true balance is restored to life can there be a higher quality of life for humanity. The mind is continually looking for balance! Oscillating back and forth from the past, present and future looking for right or wrong, big & small, good & bad, rich or poor but harmony still manages to elude us. It's only when the mind returns to the present moment, and its true nature, can there be balance and or harmony. And what is this true nature that allows us to navigate through the middle of all opposites, to remain at-ease so we can make constructive choices. Only the very essence of our Creator it self! Pure love! Ayurveda is considered the sister of Yoga; together they create a systematic daily practice to promote health, Clarity of thought and continued contact with our true nature. It is not a religion! But it does stress that whatever religion you are, you must practice! It is this very practice that produces the experience; and true knowledge comes from that experience. All other so-called knowledge is nothing more then speculative information. All religions believe in cultivating love and it is this experience of love that gives you real knowledge because you learn from whatever it is you love. So by all means practice loving your self, your life, your job, the earth, and the people you meet every day and maybe we won't have to study for 50 years to master the science life.
