Guest guest
Dear group, Sometime back there was a discussion in this group on use of Sarpgandha for hypertension. Because of being busy, I could not participate. I have some queries. I had read somewhere in one of the allopathy text books that propologed usage of Sarpgandha causes suicidal tendencies. I would like to invite the views of group on this issue. The other question is that is sarpagandha a universal medicine for hypertension or there are limitations Thanks everyone Vineet
Guest guest
It is all the bluffs of allophathic texts. How many people done suicide by sarpagandha? Any data available? It is excellant remedy I am prescribing for the past 30 years. Also could be added some to sleep inducers like sarasvatha aristam, or sadamanjil etc. Vidhyasagar. Guest guest
I should say that one of the caution is regarding pregnant women or those planning for a child, as Sarpagandha is a strong abortive.
Guest guest
based on its traditional use as a sedative, drug companies became interested in Sarpagandha in the mid-20th century and through their investigation isolated the alkaloid resperine and pronounced this the "active" component of the herb once this drug was developed, doctors began to use it for various issues, including psychosis and hypertension but it shown to have several negative side effects, and isn't used much nowadays thus because of their failed experimentation with it, the opinion developed that Sarpagandha was toxic because the "active" component of Sarpagandha was toxic it is typical of the kind of thinking found in medicine - a one tract mind that fail to see the "elusive obvious:" a highly purified chemical does not equal the herb it came from Sarpagandha is a very safe and gentle herb - most herbs have dangerous components - its simply a matter of how much is consumed after all, even water can kill you, if you take too much any doctor or pharmacist that suggests Sarpagandha is toxic is ignorant and needs to be educated Todd Caldecott todd www.toddcaldecott.com
