Guest guest
Interesting to see it's sometimes use in pp depression, I had not considered. Looking under Michael Tierra's Planetary Herbology, he says it is pungent and warm, primarily addressing the kidney meridian with yang energy as tonic, aphrodisiac, diuretic, nervine, aperient. I don't know aperient means. With women holding water late pregnancy/early postpartum and excessively weak or repressed emotionally, this appears very helpful and I will add it to my list of tools. The warming pungent vipak apparently offsets the astringent and bitter bell-ringers for high vata conditions. You can extend of course to other circumstances. It says dosage 3 - 6 grams. I work in fractions of/teaspoons - can someone translate for me? Martha
