Guest guest
The literal translation of shat-dhauta ghrut is "ghee which has been washed a 100 times" The procedure is very simple. Take appopriate amount of ghee in a shallow vessel. Add water (prefarably cool but not ice-cold) to it and perform a kneading action as if you are cleaning it. After sometime (around 2-3 minutes) allow the mixture to settle and then drain off the clear water above. Do this procedure for a 100 times. Practically even 10, 25 or 50 times works but the efficacy increases with each washing. Some people (who have lot of manpower) even prepare it by washing it a 1000 times. It is called sahastra-dhaut ghrut. There is also a school which believes that the vessel used should be of copper. But over all the very process of washing the ghee a 100 times gives good result. soulbird22
After washing the Ghee 100x. Is there a procedure you need to do to get rid of the excess water before bottling and store it? Soulbird
