Guest guest
The procedure for murchit oil is as follows:- The followings herbs should be taken in powder or paste form in equal quantity. The total of these is to be considered as one part. haritaki (http://www.himalayahealthcare.com/herbfinder/h_termch.htm) bhibitaki (http://www.himalayahealthcare.com/herbfinder/h_termbe.htm) amlaki (http://www.himalayahealthcare.com/herbfinder/h_embelo.htm) musta (http://www.himalayahealthcare.com/herbfinder/h_cyperus.htm) rajani (http://www.himalayahealthcare.com/herbfinder/h_curcum.htm) lodhra (http://www.himalayahealthcare.com/herbfinder/h_symplo.htm) hrivera (http://www.himalayahealthcare.com/aboutayurveda/cahc.htm#coleus) manjistha (http://www.himalayahealthcare.com/herbfinder/h_rubiac.htm) kevada flowers (pandanus odoratissimus) Take four parts (four times of the one part above) of the oil on which murchana is to be performed. The oil has to be heated on a low flame till it starts bubbling and continued till all the bubbles disapppear. After cooling add the above powder or paste and 16 parts water. The entire mixture has to be then heated on a low flame till all the water content in it is evaporated. For practical purposes instead of 16 parts water, 4 or 2 parts water is also used, since evaporation of 16 parts takes a long time. The oil thus prepared is called "murchit oil' and can be used singularly or to prepare other medicated oil. So you can take sesame oil, perform murchana and use it for massage singularly or use it for preparation of other oils like bala oil, mahanarayan oil, brahmi oil etc. Alternatively you can perform murchana on oils like mahanarayan oil, bala oil etc. to remove the stickiness feeling. The second method is not generally recommended. Cybervaidya
