Guest guest
Dear Prashanth If you have total baldness in some area, you can try this one, just for one month. This remedy is suggested by a close friend of author. Make a paste of Garlic and Surma (surma is applied in eyes, mostly by muslip population, you can also buy it in herbal shops), in the ratio 2:1 by weight. First apply a thin layer of butter or ghee on the bald area, and then apply above paste. Cover by a polytheline cap, sold in market especially for women who apply Henna to hair. Leave the paste on head throughout the night. Wash hair next morning by using only water. Guest guest
Dear mathew, Surma is a medicinal powder black in color, most popular amongst Muslim population of India. It is applied to eye lids by using a glass stick, about one milimeter diameter. The purpose is to make eyes shining. It is also believed that this has a mesmerising effect or hypnotizing effect on others who look at you. The preparation details are secrets of the manufacturers. In Mumbai, we get this in Muslim dominated areas. ayurveda, "chotawa" <chotawa> wrote: > > Dr Bhate, > What is Surma? > > Mathew

Guest guest
Dear Merevita Kajal is similar to Surma. Most children born in Indian villages, till age 2-3 years, receive Kajal in eyes or a spot on cheek. Dr O P Kapoor, Hon. Visiting Physician, Jaslok Hospital and Bombay Hospital, Mumbai, Ex. Hon. Prof. of Medicine, Grant Medical College and JJ Hospital, Mumbai felt that application of properly made Kajal has no disadvantage but only advantages. Those who have an immature cataract can have a better vision in the evenings, than people who do not apply "Surma" or "Kajal". This is due to the effect of belladonna present in these cosmetics because of which the pupils get dilated. Kajal is manufactured by a reputed phrmacy and is sold online http://www.baidyanath.com/manjan.htm You can find kajal is "Kohl", history described at: http://www.hennapage.com/harquuspdfs/kohlintro.pdf Despite this, the application of improperly prepared Kajal can cause lead poisoning that can occur especially to children; please check up U.S. F.D.A. site: http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/cos-kohl.html http://www.4to40.com/parenting/index.asp? article=parenting_motherandthenewborn Elders described making Kajal by using cow ghee lamp, using its soot received on silver vessel, and various other ingredietns, where lead poisoning can not occur. Guest guest
Surma is nothing but the Lead purified and processed as per the ayurvedic manufcturing methods ,the active ingredient is nothing but lead and may cause the damage due to lead, lead allergic people can get problems. Kajal is contains the Black carbon which is rather safe. chotawa <chotawa wrote: What is Surma? Chotawa
