Guest guest
Dear Friends: I've been enjoying this great group for awhile. Today, I thought it might be interesting to Introduce myself, and my special interest, "Combining Ayurved & Jyotish"... In 1988, I was in India attending a world-wide conference on Ayurved, and at the very end of our month of Ayurved, it was announced that now, we would study Jyotish. In fact: "Jyotish & Ayurved go hand in hand." We had a very fast introduction to the field of Vedic Astrology and it's potential uses in conjunction with Ayurved. All month we'd been learning how to decipher a person's out of balance doshas, through the pulse, and now, with the addition of Jyotish, we were introduced to the concept of using both great Vedic strategies, at the same time. At the end of our course, in our conclusions we broke up into groups, and some of us would feel the pulse of a person, and make some Ayurvedic diagnosis. Then, others, who were in a group, for Jyotish they would only look at his Jyotish chart, and see what the prognosis might be. Person after person we'd 'do' would both be accurately described by their pulse and then, their Astrological charts. Our teachers, finally said: "Ayurved & Jyotish go hand in hand. You may analysze a person through the pulse, but then, if you can verify that initial prognosis, through their charts, then, you can be very reasured that your analysis is on target." I came back to the states after that, and started studying Jyotish, for the first time. I'd already leaned quite a bit about Ayurved, so it was amazing for me to discover the incredible parallels between people's pulses, and their charts. Now, I believe that Ayurved is more like the wisdom and health prevention of the body, and Jyotish is something like Vedic Psychology. Therefore, Ayurved can treat the person, through the pulse and through the body while Jyotish can understand the person and treat the imbalances, in the mind, of via one's Psychology. Now, I believe that Jyotish is truely, something like Vedic Psychology, and because the mind's so important and fundamental, even to the body, then, learning how to balance, our Planets can be a great compliment to Ayurved. Another thing I learned is that because Ayurved is so practical, oriented, and so used to feeling the imbalances, and knowing so many treatments and remedies, that will indeed, balance those same physical cycles and doshas; Jyotish can learn a lot from Ayurved. Presently, Jyotish has been very stuck in a deep, fatalistic belief about life, and yet, Ayurved knows that our lives are not fated, and in fact, we can easily balance the imbalances within and purify the impurities. My hope is that someday, Jyotish, also adopt this much more healthy and progressive stance, and I believe there are many techniques and treatments that can be applied to individual's Jyotish and charts that will help them, emmensely. For example, Ayurved understands the nature of obsessions, compulsions and addictions. Ayurved, says for example, that the 'addictions' are due to mistaken memories in the very cells of the body, that are literally driving us to make mistakes. Ayurved then, seeks, to create balance, and expose the person and their Physiologies, to new experiences and then, subsequent memories, so those old patterns and memories, will be replaced by new ones, and then, no addictions. Jyotish could learn a lot from this very practical nature of Ayurved. Jyotish, already has the ability to predict things like obsessions, and addictions. In fact, Jyotish understands that it's due to the presence of negative or malefic Rahu & Ketu, in people's charts that are literally responsible for these addictions. But, Jyotish has forgotten, how to transform, the person and their Physiology or Psychology into a more balanced state, thus improving and eliminating obsessions and addictions. When Ayurved techniques then, are combined with the prognosis of Jyotish, a tremendous synergy can result. Would love to talk more, to anyone who's interested in these 2 great Vedic sciences.... Sincerely, Mark Kincaid Astrologer Teacher of meditation & Ayurved.... http://health.AyurvedJyotishYoga/ (1) 641 472-0000. [Note from moderator: There are a number of Vaidyas in Maharashtra, India, who carry out diagnosis based on natal chart and dynamic chart only. Since this does not need presence of patient, advantages are obvious]
