November 2005 Monthly Vedic Horoscope

 

General

 

There are a number of extremely powerful

configurations in the sky this month. First, Saturn

turns retrograde on the 22nd (JFK fans take note) in

Ashlesha, the nakshatra associated with serpents,

poisons and deceit. Great -- what's for dessert?

What makes this particular Saturn station more

potentially troublesome is that both Mars and Rahu

will be aspecting it -- a trio of malefics working

together on their nefarious plans to thwart human

happiness on planet Earth. Certainly this suggests

that more global disasters will be forthcoming

involving water or liquids since Saturn is in Cancer

or perhaps toxins of some kind due to the influence of

Rahu and Ashlesha. I wonder if avian flu counts as a

toxin?

 

On a personal level, the planetary stress of Saturn

can be seen in terms of structures or life or routine

of life coming unhinged. While patterns of behaviour

are part and parcel of human existence (we are all

creatures of habit at some level), some structures

cause an undue amount of pain and suffering. It is

these patterns that are need of changing. Perhaps

this month, we'll see the beginning of some of that

change to come in the future.

 

Mercury also stations this month (on the 13th) in

Scorpio in the nakshatra of Anuradha. Scorpio rules

poisons (oh, dear) and loyalty while Anuradha is

linked to maintaining friendships (whatever the cost)

and insider patronage. Just to make matters even more

interesting, however, Mercury stations within just one

degree from the unnverving aspect of Rahu. This may

be a time when friendships are tested and will get

some people into trouble. (like current residents of

the White House, for example) So the middle of the

month is going to be a time where communications and

the best-laid plans are more likely to go awry.

 

To add further spice to this autumnal stew, Uranus

stations on the 15th, a day after Mercury.

Fortunately, it is not in close aspect to any other

planet. Still, it adds to the volatility of human

affairs at that time. So go slow, anticipate change,

and expect reversals in plans and opinions. It should

be a very interesting time.

 

 

 

ARIES (Apr 13 - May 13) This may be an

appropriately hard-hitting month for the Ram, but

nothing you can't handle with the usual deployment of

assertiveness and initiative. At times, you may feel

as if you're caught in the crossfire as Mars moves

backwards in Aries, especially in the first half of

November. Since Mars transits Bharani for most of

this month, relationships and female sexuality may

occupy more of your attention now. Go easy with

partners on the 7th in order to get the full benefits

on the 17th. This middle part of the month will

probably be pretty intense and more active than usual.

It might feel a bit like surfing on waves that are a

little bigger than you're used to. If you can summon

the courage, you can rise to the occasion.

 

TAURUS (May 14 - Jun 14) Support comes from all

sides this month as Venus moves into Sagittarius. A

mysterious benefactor may do you a favour that allows

you to see reality more clearly. Your attention will

be more directed towards the transcendent realm now,

especially where it pertains to healing and longevity.

When Venus transits Purvashada after the 11th, be

careful not to to caught up in the endless chase for

status. Self-indulgence is more likely now, and

ostentatious displays may end up have an opposite

effect on those they are designed to impress. An

unusual social situation around the 17th may require

some quick action to prevent embarrassment.

 

GEMINI (Jun 15 - Jul 15) You may be infused with

the competitive spirit this month as Mercury makes its

long stay in Scorpio for the retrograde station. As

typical of the fleet-footed twin, you will avail

yourself of all possible instruments in the planning

and execution of your strategy including the

unorthodox and the original. Try to avoid going

overboard as even victories may come back to haunt you

if they are won in an inappropriate manner.

Partnerships generally go excellently now and

significant others prosper. Mercury transiting

Anuradha in November may bring in contact with people

of widely varying backgrounds. Some caution is called

for around the time of the station on the 14th as Rahu

aspects Mercury. Think before acting.

 

CANCER (Jul 16 - Aug 15) The sky can be

unforgiving sometimes but rather than feeling

cosmically punished, it might be better to welcome new

challenges that force you to grow. Saturn stations in

Cancer on the 22nd so the energy of the Great

(Malefic) Teacher will be front and centre in your

life now. Saturn here may cause a questioning or

doubting of oneself. Don't resist self-examination

(since it's futile, after all), but try to go through

your own motives as methodically as possible. An

added wrinkle is that Saturn is in Ashlesha now, so

there is the possibility that the situations you

confront may involve some element of deception or

unscrupulousness. Get it in writing, stick to

routines, and follow the directions.

 

LEO (Aug 16 - Sep 15) You're at the top of your

game now, as your charm and generosity are winning

friends all over town. November may go down in your

diary as one of the best months of the year. The first

half of the month will be a good time for creative

projects, especially if you are artistically inclined.

Assume the best about your audience so you can be

bold and inventive with your ideas. Some setback or

awkwardness is possible around the 7th, however, as

opposition comes from a respected party. The second

half of the month will bring you in contact with

education and students in some way. Find a way to tap

into their youthful energy on the 24th.

 

VIRGO (Sep 16 - Oct 16) With Mercury stationing

in your 3rd house of communication this month, you

will be probably be spending more time than usual

exchanging ideas, especially practical ones as they

pertain to the workplace. As Mercury transits

Anuradha now, contacts with foreigners, either through

business or travel, will play a key role. The risk

here lies in the middle of the month when you may fall

in love with the complexity of your own plans. Resist

the urge to plan everything and allow for spontaneity

and making a place for the input of others. A

meeting with an authority figure around the 24th may

inspire you.

 

LIBRA (Oct 17 - Nov 15) A huge reservoir of energy

is at your disposal this month as Venus moves through

Sagittarius. This is an outstanding time for

initiating all kinds of things, from taking up new

artistic hobbies to learning new software programs.

One interesting dimension here is that you are likely

to encounter learned females, especially while

travelling. Siblings may also figure in your life

more than usual, and by all accounts they will be

very successful. On the 17th, a work-related meeting

may have romantic overtones that causes some

awkwardness.

 

SCORPIO (Nov 16 - Dec 14) Mars continues its

backward journey through your 6th house this month.

Hard to pretend it's going to be all sweetness and

light, but then getting down to business rarely is.

It's likely that you will be doing your fair share of

toiling now. The workplace may be a little more

stressful, especially in the first half of the month,

as you may find your way of doing things isn't as

popular as you hoped. As Mars transits through

Bharani, willpower will be your best ally as

resoluteness now will pay off in the future. Some

income or benefit from a foreign source is likely

around the 17th. The end of November looks less tense

and generally easier going. Healing may become a

central theme now.

 

SAGITTARIUS (Dec 15 - Jan 13) As Jupiter has now

moved into Libra, you can look forward to income and

gains coming more easily. Friends may be the source

of these good times as they provide assistance,

especially for artistic pursuits. Venus transits

Sagittarius now too, so love and happiness will be

ever-present. Since Jupiter is transiting Swati,

there may also be an altruistic or humanitarian

element to your activities this month. Participating

in fund-raisers is one possible expression of this

energy. Timewise, look for your good luck to arrive

on the 7th. Activity levels will increase in the

latter half of the month.

 

CAPRICORN (Jan 14 - Feb 12) This is a time when you

will feel the weight of Saturn most. Saturn stations

on the 22nd in your 7th house, which may compel you to

confront long-smouldering relationship issues. As

Saturn moves into Ashlesha, there is a tendency for

affairs to exhibit a measure of deceit or secrecy so

make sure your conscience is clean when communicating

with partners and spouses. Travel and foreigners may

also figure prominently now. The synchronous

multi-planet pattern on the 17th involving Saturn,

Mars, Rahu and Ketu may make you a karmic offer you

can't refuse. You can negotiate through the storm of

energies by relying on friends to see you through.

 

AQUARIUS (Feb 13 - March 13) When the going gets

tough, tough Aquarians get going. With Saturn

stationing in your 6th house of service on the 22nd,

expect to have work responsiblities to take up much of

your time this month. You may be called upon to

confront some of the boss' shenanigans now too, as

leadership may come up short on a number of counts due

to Saturn's passage into Ashlesha, the nakshatra

closely associated with deception and moral

compromise. The middle of the month may bring good

news however, and proves that somebody up there loves

you after all.

 

PISCES (March 14 - Apr 12) Now that Jupiter has

moved into Libra, you may be spending more time this

month unravelling mysteries and diagnosing unusual

problems. On the whole, November looks pretty good.

Money may suddenly appear out of nowhere, and you will

experience more than the usual amount of beauty,

affection, and kindness either through the arts or

exposure to charismatic females. Work life should be

generally favourable but since Jupiter transits Swati

now, expect some unpredictable or changing demands

being made on you. The 7th looks good for cash and

friendship, and in the last week of November, an

expected return from a forgotten investment pays off

big.
