Guest guest
It is nice to see Sri Rudraksha being discussed here.. [O:)] A word of caution: There are a lot of fake beads being distributed, so make sure you obtain from a trustworthy/reputed source. Rudra Centre in Mumbai, India is probably the foremost and most respected international traders of authentic high quality beads/malas of Sri Rudraksha. Their knowledge and services are extremely high. Some other reputed sites are www.rudraksha-shakti.com <http://www.rudraksha-shakti.com/> , www.rudralife.com <http://www.rudralife.com/> or www.neparudraksha.com <http://www.neparudraksha.com/> If you want to purchase beads and support charitable causes, you can purchase good beads through the Sri Amritanandamayi Ashram (Ammachi) They have nice quality beads at decent prices, sometimes much more than decent. Go to http://www.theammashop.org/ <http://www.theammashop.org/> and do a search of Rudraksha. A highly detailed (unbiased and investigative) online resource about Rudraksha is found at www.rudraksha-center.com <http://www.rudraksha-center.com/> The best books about Rudraksha so far is Shri Kamal Narayan Seetha's "POWER OF RUDRAKSHA", available through Rudra Centre and other sites. Some good (unmoderated) unbiased discussion forums here at is found at: / </> and http://health.Investigating-Rudraksha-Info/ <http://health.Investigating-Rudraksha-Info/>

Guest guest
I have been interested in Rudraksha's abilities to balance blood pressure simply by wearing the beads, it seems by the sattvic spiritual influence on the mind to create calm and allay fear: a notable vehicle for the energy of Lord Shiva. Bazaar of India's Pressure Control formula contains powdered Rudraksha, and it is one of the most effective formulas I've come across: http://www.peacefullivinghhc.com/pressurecontrol.htm Jacob Griscom, CAS Teaching Faculty: California College of Ayurveda "alstrup" <alstrup Info: Sri Rudraksha It is nice to see Sri Rudraksha being discussed here.. Dear Jacob, You brought in the word 'energy of Lord Shiva'. Every tree, creeper, animal and us have such energy. And if one is able to get it by just physical presence of the plant part or fruit close to body, why mix and ingest the herb/part? Ayurvedic drug makers just want to sell and make money, we must see that nature is disturbed minimum. When one ingests he is going to need fresh rudraksha evryday or week. On the other hand, wearing it is just going to act as a medium through which one receives cosmic energy, and as it is rudraksha too gets conserved. Unless vaidyas, doctors and healers keep environment protection all the time in mind, we may soon end up in the same mess as created by modern science today. Patents, monopoly, exhorbitant prices etc. Incidentally, it is interesting that several herbs, roots give ayurvedic benifit just by keeping them close to the body, even in extreme circumstances as childbirth. Medical part of astrology describes herbs to be kept close, depending on birth moon star. On the other hand, some herbs kill the chances of pregnancy if tied to the body during conception event. Can modern physics/chemistry convincingly explain what happens in these cases or even when stones/gems are worn on body? Or when accupuncture tiny magnets are used on body? regards dr bhate
