Guest guest
After the delivery, female hormones starts lactation for her kid. All hormones for the menstruation has been converted to production of breast milk and so periods will be stop till breast feeding is running. In short, Periods will starts after delivery on Lefting the feeding, nearly one and half to two year...... Dr Ketan. > how long does it take for a women to start her periods after her delivery . Guest guest
It is normal that she is not menstruating till she is lactating dont worry. bcoz prolactin is a hormone which is in the blood which helps in lactation and that in turn pauses the the menstruation for some months or till lactations stops. Guest guest
An intersting question. As other drs have already pointed out, there is a strong connections between lactation and delay of menstruation, as same dhatus drive both. But who is the boss? brain. As long as mind is focussed in feeding and developing baby-mother bond, this situation prevails. Moment father intevenes, equation gets distrurbed. Pituitary driven sex hormones, once their secretions increase due to induced thoughts, environment, actions, etc, sex hormones take the leading role and affection gets backseat. This reduces breast milk and soon menstruation starts. Neighbourhood to and control of lactation by heart chakra and neighbourhood to and control of sex organs to Muladhara chakrais is also one reason. And subtle body gets maipulated by mind more often. (sorry this is little bit away from academic ayurveda and closer to spiritual part) How much feed baby will get, will thus partially depend on father too, who does not feed the baby! It is desirable that he holds the baby more oftn to his heart and keep mother out-of-sight. Awaken a mother hiding in your heart. And on rare occasions, conception occurs without cycle appearing, a spontaneously released egg from the ovary fertilises. When such children are born, the nature clears the mystery; it is seen that such children get born with ascendant, sun or moon in zodiac sign gemini, aridra star. In a way, these children are twins to their elder sibling, as both shared consecutive eggs! These are accumulated experiences, and some teachings from older generation, no scientific proof. Science and spiritualism rarely meet at a point. Spiritualism foresees as a flash and science later explains. dr bhate ayurveda, TIMLU <loveyoutimlu wrote: > > Hi All, > > Just to know how long does it take for a women to start her periods after her delivery . Guest guest
I beg to differ..... Personal experience speaking here, I got my first periods after delivery when my child was 70 days old and I was still very much feeding my baby at that point in time....So, I guess this bit really differs from woman to woman......There is no standard time frame as such. To reiterate this point, one of my friends's who delivered her baby 2 days after I did, didnt get her periods for the next 6 months after childbirth....... dr ketan bhimani <ayurastha wrote: After the delivery, female hormones starts lactation for her kid. Guest guest
Good that you are speaking from personal experience. Author would add his own personal experience. Two and half years of rich breast milk this author enjoyed. And it seems mother's cycles started around that time. So two years period recently mentioned by one of the other members is proven. Author's younger sister is just 3 yesrs 6 months younger. All nine siblings had plenty of breast milk, 2-2.5 years after birth. Author enjoyed cow milk for another 8 and half years, trying to repay the debt by working for cow preservation. One bengalee friend of this author, whose eyes moisten even today by memories of his mother's death few years back, had 3 years of mothers milk and one year aunt's breast milk. This is our great india and great mothers! Lastly, few patients of this author told him that as soon as cycles started, babies started taking less feed, perhaps milk tsste changed. When a nursing mother visits, first question author has to answer after prescription is 'whether any of these medicines would affect the quantity or taste of the feed'. dr bhate ayurveda, Bhairvi Raichura <b2raichura wrote: > > I beg to differ..... Guest guest
I stopped feeding my first child at four months when I became preganant with my second child - 34 years ago I do not remember if menstruation occured before this. But certainly many other children were fed with my milk before I left hospital (99% of births occur in hospital here in Australia) since it was very proffuse! Guest guest
>From ayurvedic point of view besides the points mentioned before another factor affecting the resumption of periods after pregnancy is the prakriti of the woman. Raja (menstrual blood)is considered to be a mala (excretion - please do not take this literaly) of rakta dhatu while stanya (breast milk) is an updhatu (like curd forms from milk). When the process of conception takes place the roles of raja and stanya are reversed and hence till stanya is produced raja is not formed. However the formation of raja is dependant on pitta. Hence in the event of excess pitta in the body, raja can be formed even when stanya is present. In view of this women with pitta prakriti will tend to resume menstrual cycle very early, while in women with kapha prakriti this will be delayed. Infact even the point that in women whose periods resume late, the quality and quantity of stanya is bettet ponts to the fact that she is of kapha prakriti. Keeping true to its form women with vata prakriti will tend to show variations in the period of resumption. Even if its the same woman she might resume periods early during her first delivery while at the time of second delivery she might resume it late. Besides this pre and post natal care of the woman as per ayurvedic procedures also affect the duration. Cybervaidya. > I beg to differ..... Guest guest
Just to clear any misconception which might form because of my earlier message, I wish to clarify the following:- The sentence - "raja (menstrual blood) is a ..." should read - raja is a mala of rakta dhatu while stanya is a updhatu of rasa. Further as per ayurvedic view of digestion rakta dhatu is nourished by rasa. So when there is no need of lactation a larger amount is available for rakta dhatu and hence its mala is also adequately formed. However on the onset of pregnancy due to fact that now more rasa will be required for production of stanya, the nourishment provided by rasa to rakta dhatu is lowered. This results in the non-formation of raja till the period of pregnancy and till the time lactation is going on. Hence the statement "When the process of conception takes place the roles of raja and stanya are reversed and hence till stanya is produced raja is not formed."
