Guest guest
In Ayurveda, Vaidyas say that 60% of visiting patients belong to Vatic disorders, 40% to pittic disorders, and only 20% to Kaphaa disorders. In last three posts we saw how cellular toxemia in kidney, liver and blood can lead to various diseases. If we combine these two facts, we can easily see that toxemia has maximum influence on central nervous system cells and those belonging to endochrine glands, since they control so many functions. Perhaps this is the reason we see diabetes epidemic, depression patients, women suffering from hormone imbalances, children suffering from ADHD, autism, early puberty, tennager obesity etc. Recall various posts connecting autism and mercury poisoning. In the present post, author will give skeleton outline of roadmap to health and take up the treatment techniques in later posts. Amongst various ways to clean up the cellular toxemia, the first is bowel elimination. The bowels are a major elimination system that protects the liver and cells from toxic contamination. Most people are constipated because they're eating fiberless, colon clogging food that is causing congestion to the ten meter long alimentary canal which eventually leads to putrefied proteins, rancid fats and fermented carbs. Nearest ayurvedic term is AMA. When they mix together, you get cancer-causing agents of nitrates, sulfates, purines, and peroxide free radicals and hydroxyl free radicals which will enter into the blood through the portal vein. You have to implement measures of colon cleansing to detoxify the body. While internet has a number of colon cleansing products, ayurveda and naturopathy prefer simple fasting and virechana techniques through laxative powders, oils and panchkarma procedures. Some detox programs are already covered on ayurveda archieves. The details of the colon cleanse need to be worked out by Vaidya, the presence of parasites being a major deciding factor. One should cleanse the liver, kidneys and lymphatic system because they are the body's filtration organs. If the liver is clogged up, the toxins switch to the kidneys. When the kidneys do not function well, toxins are eliminated through the skin, which is the second kidney. Rashes are really caused by a clogging of the colon, liver and kidneys. Seven layers of the dermis and the epidermis get clogged by the toxic sludge trying to come out through the skin pores through sweat. Most people have trouble with perspiration, especially women. The usual menstrual route available to eliminate the mala of rakta dhatu, alternates to sweating (night sweats) after menses reduce due to peri-menopause. Though many Vaidyas prefer to cleanse liver after kidney is cleansed, author prefers a combined liver and kidney cleanse. By combining certain yogasanas and exercise, this doubles up as lymphatic system cleanse. Use of Rakta shodhak herbs after the cleanse reduces the pitta (interpret as blood impurities) Thus blood cleanse improves muscle and skin tone too as the quality of the flesh is in the blood. Flesh is next dhatu resulting from blood itself. Herbs such as Anantmul, Punarnava, Kalmegh, Nasotar, Bhumiamalki, Kadu, Chirait come to the mind as Rakta shodhkas for cleanse. Total thirtytwo herbs become candidates. Westerners can use Milk thistle for the liver and uva ursa for the kidneys. But views of western vaidyas are most welcome. Pure fresh watermelon/cucumber/grape/lemon or cranberry juice without adding sugar is great for the kidneys. Fresh vegetable juices that have live enzyme and high chlorophyll content along with thousands of phytonutrients cannot be matched in a chemistry lab Fresh juice washes through the kidneys and liver because the digestive enzymes are intact and there's no digestion needed because the juicer just did the digestive tract's job. The major contribution of juices in restoring blood alkalinity gives a blood cleanse also. The next detox technique is respiration, which is simply breathing properly. Deep breathing and regular exercise will increase blood oxygen and will increase output of carbon dioxide, alkalizing pH. Normally air contains 78% nitrogen and 21% oxugen. In general we breath in only 4% oxygen in air With proper techniques this proportion can be increased to 8% by yogic breathing techniques. Next health measure can be increasing circulation. Most people are sedentary so they don't have any lymph and blood circulation. We have a stagnation which is caused by lack of life-giving circulation. A stagnant swamp draws mosquitoes and flies and allows fungus and algae to grow on the top. Many people have systemic candida problems because of stagnation. Then the sugar, soft floor and junk foods that they've been eating for years eventually collect in that stagnation and ferment, causing scavengers of bacteria, viruses, parasites, fluke worms, round worms and other virulent pathogens that eventually feed and breed in that area. This is the reason, a fruit grower would like to reduce sugar content of the fruit towards obtaining higher shelf life. Next health measure would be addressing vibratory problems. Cell vibration would obviously be affected by not having enough electromagnetic pulse waves to the cells because of toxicities and other factors. Lack of circulation, filtration and exercise causes cell vibration to drop to where cells become wobbly instead of having a high vibratory rate -- what's called resonance. Instead of having a left spin of health, which vacuums nutrition into the cells like a tornado vortex, the cells becomes wobbly and repel nutrients and fluids with a right spin and low vibratory rate similar to two magnets in opposition to each other. When this happens they start spinning right, keeping them on the outside of the cell. The cells either spin left for health or right in a "dis-ease" process. This spin can be linked to Pran shakti. After some age, even giving highly nutrient food does not help gain strength. Last protocol of detoxification is heavy metal chelation. Most of us today are loaded with heavy metals from mercury amalgam fillings in teeth, fish, vaccines, aluminum from aluminum cans, cookware, cosmetic items and other industrial sources. All of these heavy metals imbed deep into the brain and nervous system and have a dramatic impact on the body's health. MOre important than finding out what heavy metals may be in our system, is to get them chelated out of the body. Panch Gavya medicines help a lot in this chelation process. The affinity between cow dung and cow urine and certain deadly toxins has been mentioned in indian mythology too. This discussion gives overall skeleton of the health programme. In subsequent posts, one each week, author will take up each of health measure one-by-one or two at a time and discuss details of alternatives available to us. Guest guest
Dear Dr Bhate, Your articles in the series "Iron rules of health" are worth their weight in gold. I feel each and every person should go in for at least one Panchakarma Therapy and Naturopathic Detoxes later. The naturopathic cleansing should be regular and at least once every three months. A naturopathic treatment will make us realise the importance of discriminating in food intake and also the need to take active interest in the maintainence of health. When your stomach is being cleaned you cannot but wonder how you have gorged it with the wrong kind of food. This treatment has turned almost all into vegetarians and encouraged people to increase intake of raw fruit and juices. I believe many must have also given up vices like smoking or drinking as they observe the need to detoxify the body. It is a great wonder how this simple therapy of mud, water, diet and exercise can change your attitude towards life. I would request Dr Nishal of our group to share more in this context. We should also think about taking liver and kidney detoxifying herbs on a somewhat regular basis. The skin also should be kept clean by scrubbing it while taking a good bath and by exercising so as to sweat. Regarding heavy metals, we should get our hair, nails and urine examined to know if we have heavy concentration of any metals in our system. We cannot remain impervious to this threat and should raise our voices against rampant pollution of the food, air and water. In India very few people bother about checking the contents of the processed foods and chemical medicines they regularly consume. One should educate oneself of the hidden dangers and make it a habit to ask the shopkeeper or the doctor and seek clarifications. It is well and truly said, "Our health is in our own hands". We live in an age where a single mistake can make our life a horror story.
