Guest guest
Believe it or not, there is more calcium in a cup of spinach then there is in a cup of milk. Guest guest
In a previous post you said Calcium is not reaching the brain. You can make it reach if you give it directly to brain through nasal mucosa. Ayurvedaonline post# 4788 talks about how to do it, but you will need help of a yoga instructor or nearby vaidya. Apart from this as Noel pointed out, the richest source of calcium and several other minerals is green leafy vegetables. Thinking of calcium, magnesium etc is a reductionist approach of mainstream science. As Noel pointed out ayurveda need not and does not go to such elements making the universe. Ayurveda may classify it as something from 'Earth' element. Nature provides the cocktail of all minerals in readily acceptable form to body. You can get all these at a fraction of cost of milk. Only remember that soups have to be made using pressure cooker (stainless steel cooker better than aluminium) and only one whistle allowed. Remove cooker from fire immediately after one whistle and remove the vegetable from cooker after it cools down. Fresh juice of half a lemon added to the soup makes it more rich in vitamins and enzymes lost by cooking are recovered to some extent. Further, the Vit. C in lemon juice increases absorption of minerals in soup. More on the lemon juice in a separate post next week. In addition to spinach you can use all green leafy veggies. In India, we get some vegetables having red color leaves. Those too are good. Some discussion on leafy vegetables will be covered in a separate post under 'Iron rules of health' next week. Lastly, author has been carrying out some experimentation on killing milk allergies. Though there has been some success so far, it will take some more time to consolidate the results and come out with firm recommendations. dr bhate ayurveda, ELIMOM1313 wrote: > > Thank you--milk is not good. Guest guest
Many thanks to the two doctors and Jodi for their insight. Just bathing in water with sea salt helps! The silver bhasma is another avenue to explore. Katy
Guest guest
Hello, You at ur own giving the right answer that amla(mainly Vit- C), methi seeds and some bhasmas are used as a good source of calcium. As all these comes under ayurveda only. These bhasmas are like mukta bhasma, shukti bhasma, shankh bhasma kukuttandtwak bhasma, prawal bhasma etc. these bhasmas comes under Ras Shastra, an another branch of ayurveda. and these plants etc. comes under Dravyaguna Shastra. > Amla, Methi-seeds and some bhasmas are used for calcium supplements, Milk is good too if you can tolerate its effects. > In Ayurveda what is used for calcium?
