If you come across any of them, do take some time to observe them. Many as you observe are so engross in their art that their environment cease to exist. What transform is only the artist and his object. The artist is in his own world. All his sense is focus only in his art. The same goes with our sadhana too, irregardless of weather its mantra chanting or meditation etc, when you remain focus in your sadhana, nothing can distract you. You can redirect all your senses especially hearing only one object that is the mantra you're chanting. Eventually you will have the ability to switch off and on anytime you like. Its how you discipline your mind and your senses. So you may say now : I am in this environment, what should I do abt it? Take this is a training ground. An obstacle course that you need to overcome. Initially you may use cotton bud or whatever to cut off or reduce the distraction, thereafter work towards the disciplining of the senses and the mind. Your objectives will be : to be able to do the mantra chanting without any aid at all. You mind will do the chanting for you. You may be doing the work, walking or helping your parents with the chores, but you are mantra chanting.
