Association of Grandparents of Indian Immigrants (AGII), a registered nonprofit organization, is dedicated to the production of audiovisual materials for the families of Indian Immigrants. Carefully selected stories, depicting India’s glorious past, are narrated in English with music and sound effects. This brings to life, using modern multimedia techniques, the still pictures of the famous Amar Chitra Katha series, yet preserving the educational values of our productions. We have nearly 200 stories captured in 40 DVDs (each of 100 minutes duration). VHS tapes are now out of circulation, and are only available by special request. The association (AGII) bears all production cost and subsidizes the cost of reproduction and mailing. The cost of the DVD is $8.00 each, $15.00 for two DVDs in a special casing, or $6.00 each when the entire set is ordered, which comes in a special DVD holding case. We cover all mailing charges within USA. Payments can be made through credit card (Visa, Master Card, Discover) or by check. For security reasons, credit card information (type, number and expiration date), along with your telephone number and mailing address, should be communicated by phone and can be left in the voice mail (610-965-0525). Aruni of Panchala was a dedicated student of the ancient sage Dhoumya. In the days of yore, a student had to stay with the teacher and help in the teacher’s daily chores in order to receive the knowledge he sought. It was a day of cold winter. Aruni was carrying the firewood he had collected for the sage's household. As he was passing by a field, which belonged to the sage, he noticed a breach in the embankment that was holding water in his teacher's field. He realized that the water would seep away and the field’s crops would die with no water. Click here to read more...
