Guest guest
Hi friends, I am new to this group. I am a devotee of Lord Shiva. I have a rudraksha mala that was given to me by a relative. Can any of the esteemed members tell me how to purify this mala before I begin to use it. Regards Meenakshi

Guest guest
And don't forget about at least one mala (108 times) Om Namah Shivaya and/or your Guru/Ishta Mantra, if you have one. - prasanna kumar Wednesday, April 26, 2006 6:27 PM Re: purifying a rudraksha Dear Meenakshi jee RUDRAKSHA POOJA/SHUDHIKARAN DETAILS Rudraksha pooja or shudhikaran (energisation) Details are therefore given below on how a pooja is performed step by step. The following pooja is performed prior to wearing any Rudraksha bead/mala. Guest guest
Sh.Oleji, Reply is given on behalf of group's Owner. Hope this meets Ur requirement. Ur Query: What is your source for this Pooja/Shudhikaran? Reply: These are all Veda mantras, mainly from Rig and Sama. Ur Query: Where can I read the translation of these mantras? Reply: Translations are enumerated below; AUM SADYOJAATAM PRAPADYAAMI SADYOJATAAYA VAI NAMO NAMAH I BHAVE BHAVENAATI BHAVE BHAVASVAMAAM BHAVODBHAVAYA NAMAH II Meaning: (The Lord facing westward is known as sadyojata.) Lord of Sadyojata, I seek your protection. Please encourage me to achieve the goal of salvation and take me out of the chain of rebirths. O' Lord, you are capable of providing me the ways to keep me out of the materialistic (Worldly) affairs. AUM, AGHOREBHYOTHA GHOREBHYO GHORA GHORA TAREBHAYAH I SARVEBHYASSARVA SHARVEBHYO NAMASTE ASTU RUDRA ROOPEBHYAH II Meaning: (Lord facing southward is known as AGHORA). Some of His attributes are Peaceful, some are Rajas and fiery, the others are Tamas so are called Ghora Taras. AUM VAMDEVAYA NAMO JYESHTHAAYA NAMAH SHRESHTHAYA NAMO RUDRAAY NAMAH I KAALAYA NAMAH KALA VIKARANAAY NAMO BALA VIKARANAAYA NAMO BALAAYA NAMO BALA PRAMATHANAAYA NAMA SARVA BHOOTA DAMANAAYA NAMO MANONMANAAYA NAMAH II (Lord's Northward face is called Vamadev) O' Lord I salute you as You are so Handsome, Effulgent, who exists before any creation is started (Aadi), greatest of all Gods, responsible for Pralaya Kaal (Doomsday), Personification of Time and ages, Owner of all comforts and happiness, Creator of all planes and worlds (Universe), destroyer of Raakshas bal (Wild strength), gives judgment and punish people, omniscient. AUM TATPURUSHAAYA VIDMAHE MAHADEVAAYA DHEEMAHI I TANNO RUDRAH PRACHODAYAAT II (Lord's eastward face is called Tatpurush) I learnt through my guru and Vedas that you are Tat Purusha. Let be the dedication and knowledge with me to pay thee. AUM EESHAANAH SARVAVIDYAANAM EESHWARA SARVABHOOTAANAAM I BRAHMAADIPATIR BRAHMA SHIVO ME' ASTU SADAA SHIVOM II (Lord's skyward face is called EEsaana) Let me assume Eesaana, who is Lord of all Vidyas (Arts), Protector of all living beings, Protector of Vedas, Lord of Brahma. Let this omniscient Lord be peaceful to bless me. Your Query: Where do I get the ingredients such as Desi ghee, Ashatgandha? Reply: From reliable and trust worthy sources (Locally) Your query: What about Pranapratishta mantras? Reply: Hold flowers and Akshatas with thumb, ring and little fingers. Raise the hand over and above the image of Lord by forming Gomulka Mudra. Place the akshatas and flowers on the Lord after chanting the following Mantra. AUM, ASUNEETE' PUNARASMASU CHAKSHUHU PUNAH PRANA MIHANO DEHI BHOGAM JYOKPASHYEMA SURYA MUCHARANTA MANUMATE' MRUDAYANA SWASTI AMRITAM VAIPRANA AMRITAMAPAH PRANANE'VA YADHASTHANA MUPAHVAYATE SWAMIN SARVA JAGANNADHA YAVAT POOJA VASAANAKAM TAVATVAM PREETI BHAVE'NA SANNIDHIN KURU, AVAHITO' BHAVA, STHAPITO BHAVA, SUPRASANNO BHAVA VARADO BHAVA AVAKUNTHITO BHAVA STHIRA AASANAM KURU PRASEEDA PRASEEDA PRASEEDA II Your Query: I have seen different Sri Rudraksha poojas described on various rudraksha distributor websites, but no one is quoting their source. How important is it to pronounce the mantras absolutely correctly? Reply: As stated these are Rig and Sama Veda Mantras often with Beejakshar samputi (Group). Rig Veda Mantras should be chanted with in where as Sama Veda mantras should be chanted loud and with raga (Rhythm). Correctness in pronunciation is absolutely important. The rudraksha is covered by a chapter in Shiva Puran. Your query: I have some beads I want to offer myself, but have no prior experience with pooja, so have some worries about this, I dont want to commit any blunders and spoil the offering. I am therefore wondering if all such poojas are in the agama tradition and not found anywhere in Puranas etc. What do the Shiva Purana and Srimad Devibhagavata say on this particular subject matter? Reply: Please specify the quantity and number faces on the rudraksha in your possession vividly, it is equally important. In this regard either Group owner or Sh.Arjun Pandit is capable enough to clarify. It is preferred to perform pooja by self. In case of unawareness of afore said mantras, one may takes the help of Purohit (Priest). AUM Namah Shivaya On 4/28/06, alstrup <" on the web. Terms of Service.
