Guest guest
In fact, the BEST translation for Diva Devi Dasi IS: Maid servant of Indrani (wife or shakti of Indra). That's perfect as translation work goes... sacred-objects, "divadevi108" <divadevi108> wrote: > > Dear Diva, > > R U female? (as I assume). The only case where Indra would fight Vishnu is in case that "lila" was the pleasure of Lord Vishnu. Indra NEVER has anything but respect for Lord Vishnu, because it was from Vishnu (God) that Brahma was born, and Brahma is the ultimate leader of the Devas & Devis in svarga. > > In fact the deffinition of a Deva is a devotee of Lord Narayana, and an asura is a non- devotee. Lord Shiva Himself stated that without devotion to Vishnu He never accepts worship even with millions of Bael leaves. And that doesn't make Vishnu better than lord Shiva, because they are like MILK & YOGURT respectively. One and the same truth!!! > > You have a VERY C-O-O-L name, Diva...!!! My 9 years old half-Thai son is named "Jiva" (life). Tomorrow is Thai King Rama IX's 78 Birthday reaching 60 years on the Throne. He's the Greatest King on Earth...and the King's birthday is also Thai "Father's Day" so tomorrow I take my son to a movie. He's a BORN vegetarian and a Royal student in the Palace. > > That last para was for entertainment value... > > Warm rgds, > Richard > > dear richard: thank you for such elucidation! saraswati is in > residence here, no question. > > maid servant of indra sounds very blessed, but wasn't indra defeated > by vishnu? > > om namah shivaya! > > diva devi > > sacred-objects, "Richard Shaw-Brown II" > <rsbj66> wrote: > > > > Dear Diva, > > > > Namaste!!! > > > > HUUUUMMMM!!! Guest guest
Hi Diva, Actually, the BEST translation would be LIGHT, because the Sun God is named Divakara (diva=light, kara=do). Tonight I'll put a picture on Sacred Objects homepage of the 1993 Queen Sirikit Navaratna I made for Crown Jewels of Thailand long ago. I'll send a notice when ready. Best rgds, Richard sacred-objects, "divadevi108" <divadevi108> wrote: > > thank you for this further clarification, dear richardji. i perceive > you are a perfectionist in many ways! > > diva devi > > sacred-objects, "Richard Shaw-Brown II" > <rsbj66> wrote: > > > > In fact, the BEST translation for Diva Devi Dasi IS: Maid servant > of Indrani (wife or shakti of > > Indra).
