Guest guest
Anyone interested to obtain a REAL Gaja Moti should contact our member Smt. Swee Chan in Zambia as her family have the very rare item picture attached. It's a fresh one, not fossilized, and there are eye witnesses that this "moti" came from the head of a Zambian Elephant. This Zambian Gaja Moti is quite unusual. The discription of Gaja Moti given by Srila Suta Goswami in Sri Garuda Purana is as follows, "Pearls from elephant heads, bamboo stems, boar heads, fish mouths, and conch shells are lusterless, even though possessed of other auspicious qualities." Doesn't say very much. For genuine Gaja Moti we must be prepared for high value simply because of the rarity alone. In other words, an Elephant Pearl cannot possibly be cheap, unless it is being gifted to a museum as a tax write off by a rich person. And then also a high value will be assesed for the donated item. Guest guest
IMPORTANT NOTE FROM TOM BANKER IN THAILAND Do you remember the Gaja Mani I sent you from Ross Walker and Claire Chan (their company in Zambia is Jagoda) just after the Jewelry Show last year (attached here again)? Both the one from your sacred-objects site and the one I sent you from Ross & Claire are attached here. Swee Chan's pretty much looks like Ross & Claire's, without the Dunhill package, right? That's because Swee is Claire's sister. Also, if you're interested in pursuing it, there's a great story that goes with that piece. Adrian (who I met with them in Zambia years ago) is the one who found that Gaja Mani and watched it being extracted from a pure WHITE elephant. Not an albino, and Adrian thought it was just covered in white sand when he first saw it dying next to a water hole there. But it wasn't sand, the elephant had pure white skin from head to toe, not just the white trunk and head like you see in Thailand. I just got an SMS from Ross who is arriving for the show this evening with Claire for the show. While I'm with them, I'll remind them to get me more information on exactly what Adrian saw there. Any thing else you'd like to know about that Gaja Mani or the elephant it came from?
