Guest guest
Dear Kariji Namaskar My Friend and thank you for your message The study of Siva can take a couple of years to begin with A good beginning can be found in the writtings of NamaDeva Acharyas works that can be found on www.SanskritMantra.com Siva is infinite consciousness past present and future He is known as the Great Destroyer but this description is flawed. It would be more accurate to call him the Great Spiritualizer because it is Siva who enables spiritual evolutoin by using the essence of our current level of understanding to move us to a higher plane The following Siddha Mantra is made up of the seed syllables that govern the elements associated with the chakras earth water fire air and ether. The Siddha Path is the Path of perfecting the Divine Vehicle. This Mantra is used to hasten the journey to spiritual maturity the state of perfection enjoyed by the Siddhas Om Namah Shivaya Suggested reading to go further are the Siva Puranas that can be probably found at www.NatarajBooks.com Thanks and Take Care My Friend DharmaDev karisprowl <karisprowl <> Tuesday, November 05, 2002 6:27 PM Will someone please tell me...... .. about Lord Shiva? I have noticed there seem to be a few devotees, on this l/s. I have encountered three Hindu Dieties-- Lord Ganesha, Lady Laxmi, and Lord Hanumaan. All I know about Lord Shiva is that He is the destroyer who makes way for the new growth. Than
Guest guest
Thank you, Kantiji. BTW-- I know that He is real. Remember, I have a background in some Western mystical trads. From those, one learns that all the Gods who are worshipped are very real. And, there is always an exchange of energy between God(s) and man, from the worship. , thunderheals@a... wrote: > Namaste. > I would call Lord Shiva the Great Destroyer in that he destroys pain, > suffering and ignorance. > > He is very real. > He isn't "theoretical" :-) > > In a message dated 11/5/2002 10:25:33 PM Central Standard Time, > shininglotus@c... writes: > > > > Dear Kariji > > > > Namaskar My Friend and thank you for your message > > > > The study of Siva can take a couple of years to begin with > > > > A good beginning can be found in the writtings of NamaDeva Acharyas works > > that can be found on www.SanskritMantra.com > > > > Siva is infinite consciousness past present and future > > > > He is known as the Great Destroyer but this description is flawed. Guest guest
Dear Kari, There is a good book called "Dancing With Siva", this will tell you everything about Him. The Hindu trinity is Bhrama(creator, Rajas), Vishnu (Sustainer,Sattwa), Rudra(Destroyer, Tamas). Rudra is a form of Siva, but Siva himself is said to be beyond the trinity. I like this explanation, Bhrama is our mother, Vishnu our father, and Siva is our mother and father. Saivites believe him to be the Supreme. In the Vaisnava religion, Hari(Vishnu) is the Supreme and Siva is the destroyer who makes way for the new creation. Siva is also the Lord of the Dance, Nataraja. He is prabably the oldest worshipped Hindu diety. Siva is said to be easily pleased, and readily gives his blessings. He is very innocent. best wishes, Kamal , "karisprowl" <karisprowl> wrote: > Thank you, Kantiji. > > BTW-- I know that He is real. Remember, I have a background in some > Western mystical trads.
