Guest guest
Sri Yantra is a tantra detailed by Adi Shankara, Bhaskaraya, and Ananda Bhairava, from somewhere around 500 AD. At the same time the Buddhist Kalachakra tantra also was being employed. There's evidence that Sri and Lakshmi are pre-vedic devas, in which case the supreme knowledge of the glorious end-Sri Lakshmi is a very very old knowledge. It's my own understanding that knowledge of the Goddess is pre-twilight civilization, and the first deity worshipped. This all goes to the point of the Sri Chakra (Yantra) being a form of supreme energy glyph of existance. It is used in a very extended puja as a focus for identifying with the Goddess Tripura Sundari - The Red Goddess of increase. One anoints the Yantra at each point reciting mantras and visualizes and attunes to the body of the Supreme. Please read this for a better idea of the practice. - http://www.srividya.org/Online_Books/Blue_Book.pdf One must have diksha from a master. You cannot worship in Sri Vidya without diksha, but you may use the Sri Yantra as a form of Mahalakshmi for puja. - patebha1 <patebha1 Monday, December 16, 2002 7:22 PM Sri Yantra Can any/all of you shine the light on "sri yantra"? What is it? Where it is used? How it is used? Thanks,
