Greetings:

Is it ok to chant more than one mantra on a mala? I enjoy the Om

Namah Shivaya mainly, but really enjoy the Gayatri and Mahamrtyunjaya

Mantras as well.

Dear Ryanji

Namaskar My Friend

Dont know what type of Mala you are referring to and this would have

to be known to answer question

Is a little more complicated than this however as a general rule it

would be appropriate to stay with Mantras that are intended for the

particular Mala.......... or specific Mukhi Rudraksa

Beads...........or the Discipline you are working with

Srimaddevibhagavat states to chant the Rudraksa according to their

Devata for Mantra Siddhi. Have written something about this so will

have to go find this

Then there are also different Malas intended to be used with specific

Mantras for each Mala in specific Sadhanas and other Disciplines.

Fairly certain our Rudraksa and Ratna Book in our book section has a

listing of some of the Different Malas

To name a few there are Lotus Seed Mala, Tumeric Mala, Rudraksa Mala,

Kushs Root Mala, Navratna Mala, Baijanti Mala and more

Thanks and Take Care

Dear Tiaji:

The rudraksha are not a religion in and of themselves.

The rudraksha come from an age and a tradition know As Sanatan Dharma which

is the foundation of all religionsfrom a very ancient time in world history

before there were distinctions and differences of religious thought and

dogma.

They are the manifestations of Divine Energy that were given to the world by

Lord Shiva so the Scriptures and Spiritual Practices known Today as the

Shaivite Branch of Hinduisn particularily resonante to their

blessings..However the health and spiritual benefits of the rudraksha can be

enjoyed by people of all faiths..

The beads are used in rosaries, as jewelry . They are put on personal altars

and shrines and also can be held for meditation or onto different parts of

the body for healing.

In todays field of Subtle Vibrational Medicine, where modalities such as

Reiki, gem and color therapy, aroma therapy and flower essences are

used...one can see the connection of how rudraksha interact with

neurophysiology and subtle energy fields of the body.

The numbers associated with the beads refer to the number of facets (mukhis)

each bead has.

The rudraksha are very unique in that they are vegetable matter, they come

from a tree, yet they have powerful electromagnetic frequencies.

One could say that the different facets have very specific energetically

qualities.

The Vedic Scriptures of India describe these differences as pertaining to the

attributes of the various deities.

Its like musical notes and how each note vibates a little differently..the

qualties of the facets also correspond to Vedic Numerology as well as the

different Color Qualities associated with each deity. These in turn have a

very beneficial effect on a persons well being spiritually, emotionally,

intectually and physically.

So that's sorta how they work.

Namaste,

Kanti
