Used something called Brasso to clean them and they turn out a nice golden colour. It is said that some Yantras work when the faithful glances at them. Maybe it is my imagination but the Hanuman, Rama and Durga yantras on my altar seem to radiate warmth and power whenever I look at them, whether I was repeating the mantras or not.
