Hello all,

I found the following tests to find whether a rudraksha is original or

fake in one of the telugu books "rudraksha mahima - vibuthi dharana"

- When a rudraksha is placed in between two copper plates, the original

bead rotates and the fake one doesnot

- When a original rudraksha is put in milk, the milk doesnot break even if

boiled after some days.

I was trying to find the original references for these. If anyone knows

them or tried the above tests then please let me know.

|SriMadDeviBhagavat 11th Skand Chapter VII at about verse 40 has this reference

however there is no mention of carrots

|

|The entire reference reads

|

|The Fourteen Faced Rudraksam destroys all diseases and gives eternal health.

While holding this one ought not to take wine, flesh, onion, garlic, Sajna

fruit, Chalta fruit and the flesh of the Boar which eats excrements, etc.

|

|One key phrase here are the words.......while holding this

|

|Today we know that onions and garlic are extremely valuable for the good health

of the human body and carrots are also most important to eat

|

|Doctors also sometimes recommend one small glass of wine on any given day as a

tonic to those patients whose physical body need this type of stimulation for

their metabolism and well being

|

|If a person is drinking wine it would probably be best to remove any Rudraksa

or Rudraksa Malas that are being worn
