Guest guest
Hello Listmembers: I came across this gorgeous book yesterday called "Plants and people of Nepal" at the library which apparently is the result of the largest ethnobotanical study of Nepal ever conducted. So, of course i turned to the entry under Rudraksha:-) Unfortunately there wasn't a whole lot of information except to say the natural habitat was eastern and central nepal and that the overharvesting is a cause of concern. However there is picture of a traditional healer wearing what i swear is the most incredible mala i've ever seen (You have to see this picture to believe it. It is unreal!). So has anyone on this list ever been to these areas where Rudrakshas grow in the wild? It has been a goal of mine to go to Shalagram for a while and was wondering if it might be possible to combine a rudraksha "detour". I don't expect this to happen soon but you gotta dream right:-) Suraj
