Padma Purana mentions that two joint beads should never be worn. This means

Gauri Shankar should never be worn instead one can put it in Puja altar and

worship. Please share your knowledge and views

Dear Nileshji

Namaskar and thanks for your message

Have not seen this in the Padma Purana

Can you please tell me the Chapter and Verse where this is found or give the

exact wording and who the translator is

What we have found in todays society is that the Gauri Shankar can certainly be

worn and at the same time can also be kept at the worship place depending on the

choice of the person keeping this Highly Auspicious Bead

32 Bead Gauri Shankar Kanthas are worn in Nepal and India by Sannyasi and by

others throughout the world

I have worn a Kantha with more than 32 Gauri Shankar and is a most Divine

Experience

Also spoke with a Guru in Chennai in 2001 who was wearing one totally encased in

gold

Would really like to know the exact words in the verses of the Padma Purana that

refer to the Gauri Shankar

Thanks and Take Care My Friend

It is under Srishti Khanda. You can read the translation on

http://www.urday.com/padma_shk4.htm#signi

I am not sure who did the translations.

Dear Nileshji

Namaskar My Friend and thanks for the reference to the urday.com website that

shows the information you mentioned

After reading their interpretation and the way they construct their

sentences........ would really like to put this information on hold till we can

find the exact references in the Padma Purana that they are referring to. Major

reason for this is that we know some writers add more to their writing than what

is in the original texts so we always try to check the original documentation

One example in the urday.com writing is where one of their sentences

state.......... the mere sight of a Holy Man wearing Rudraksa absolves one of

their sins........ and although this may be in the Padma Purana we have not

found a basis for this concept anywhere else in other Holy Books

What has been found referenced in this regard is that a person who wears the

Holy Rudraksa is given respect by mortals and Gods alike

Another example is where they say only Rudraksa with Siva Linga and Yoni forms

should be worn and this is basicly unheard of as a reference from any of the

Holy Books so am a little suspicious of some of what they are writing

Rudraksa are described in over 100 verses in Padma Purana Chapter 57 and have

found no mention of Gauri Shankar wearing precautions

Do not have an original copy of Padma Purana here so cannot check this from this

side

Maybe sometime in the future we will be able to read this Holy Book also

Thanks and Take Care My Friend
