Dear Friends

Found reference in the AgniMahaPuranam by Sri VedaVyasa edited by K L

Joshi that I have never seen before and was wondering if our

respected Indian group members might be able to help with the

Traditional Meanings of the words describeing the different classes

of Rudraksa in this reference

Chapter 325

..........The Rudraksa are divided into four classes ( Gocaras ) such

as the Siva the Sikha and the Savitra. Gocara means a particular

class of the Rudraksas a hundred thousand counting of which grants

success with a Mantra.

The Rudraksas known as the Prajapatyas.... the Mahipalas.... the

Kapotas........ and the Granthikas belong to the genus Siva

The Rudraksa known as the Kutikas....... the Vetalas....... the Padma

Hamsas belong to the genus Sikha

The Seeds known as the Dhrtarastras...... the Vakas..... the

Kakas....... and the Gopalas belong to the genus Yati

The Rudraksa known as the Kutikas....... the Sarathas...... the

Gutikas......... and the Dandins belong to the genus Savitri

If anyone has Knowledge regarding the Traditional meanings of the

words from Prajapatyas to Dandins as they might apply to the Holy

Rudaksa in this reference we would be most appreciative to learn

these meanings

Please feel free to contact me at ShiningLotus or place any

replies here on the group site

Thanking you for your help in this My Friends
