Dear Group,

I have not eaten meat for quite some time now, but I still hunger for eggs

on occasion. Are infertile eggs from the grocery still considered taboo to non-

flesh eaters in accordance with Hindu Tradition?

Sincerly,

Joseph Rippy

Dear Josephji:

I am really unsure of that answer according to Hindu Tradition.

You may want to contact Shastriji, who Dharma Devaji mentioned in an

earlier post today.

He is a Priest who Dharma Devaji has been working very closely with

the last few months.

I can only give you my own experience an opinion which will be

considered un-orthodox or un traditional, I suppose..

I would suggest going with what your body is telling you.

After being vegetarian for many, many years I had to start eating a

little meat because I developed anemia.

I do wear my rudraksha on those rare occasions that I do eat meat.

I do not feel it is disrespectful to the shakti of the beads or to

the devata. Think alot of it has to do with the consciousness of one

who is doing the eating.

Native American tradition thanks the animal who is providing life and

nourishment to body.

Om Namah Shivaya
