Guest guest
Namaste Ole and welcome to the Group. The rudraksha come to humanity out of Divine Grace and are not restricted to any one faith or devotion. In the Srimad Devi Bhagavatam Lord Vishnu says: " I am meditating in the lotus of my heart on that Mahadeva Mahesvara. Mahadeva meditates on me and I meditate on Shankara. I am dear to Shiva as his life is dear to him and Shankara is similarly dear to me. The hearts of both are attached to each other in the most secret possible way; therefore there is not the least bit of difference between us both. " Om Shanti. Guest guest
Greetings Oleji: There is a tremendous amount of folklore and I suppose what you would call superstition around the rudraksha in many areas of India and Nepal. Suppose that is where other descriptions come from. Yes, 10 mukhi rudraksha is a wondeful bead and is the home of the 10 Avatars of Lord Vishnu. :-) Pranams Kanti In a message dated 7/31/2003 2:59:28 PM Central Daylight Time, alstrup writes: > Namaskar > > Thank you very much so far for those insights. Guest guest
Question: Are there any scriptural prohibitions in Vaishnava traditions for devotees of the different forms of Lord Vishnu to wear Rudraksha beads with the intent to pacify negative planetary effects and for self empowerment? Since I am an aspiring devotee of Lord Krsna, can I actually wear Rudraksha? Or is that only reserved principally for devotees of Lord Shiva? Would it be a breach of Vaishnava etiquette to wear Rudraksha beads? It seems that although Rudraksha beads are associated mainly with the devotion towards Lord Shiva, different beads represent different dieties, the representing deity of 10 mukhi is Lord Narayana. I received a recommendation of 7+11+Gauri Shankar Mukhi Rudraksha in Silver from Rudra Centre based on my current Jyotish chart. I have never worn Rudraksha beads before but am very attracted, although I wear Tulasi Kanthi Mala. However, because I have lack of knowledge with the esoteric devotional aspects of this seen through the eyes of Gaudiya Vaishnavism and therefore maintain doubts, I am afraid to unknowingly or knowingly commit any offences towards Lord Vishnu or Lord Shiva obtaining a Rudraksha necklace for such karma-kanda purposes. I also just wrote Ms Neeta for further information. Thank you for any insights, Ole in Denmark

Guest guest
Dear DharmaDev and All here, Pranams Thank you for those scriptural references. I was studying Rudra Centre's website in greater detail these past days with great interest and have developed firm decision to obtain a personal mala this coming month. Ms. Neeta very graciously sent me another updated recommendation yesterday for combination of personal necklace mala. 7 mukhi x 2 9 Mukhi 10 Mukhi 11 mukhi Gauri Shankar Making in pearl beads and small Rudraksha beads as a complete necklace in strong thread withn silver spacers (108 beads) Topaz 6 carat pendent in silver attached to centre of necklace Shreeyantra in silver and red thread There may be some final revisions from Ms. Neetha based on the exact astrological details being sent via my vedic astrologer in the coming days and my further descriptions of problems/purposes just sent to Ms. Neetha yesterday. DharmaDev, with what you wrote, I am wondering, Siva Purana and SriMadDeviBhagavat says these auspicious things about Ten Mukhi Rudraksha; "..devotee shall achieve the fulfillment of all desires" "..removes all the tears and troubles due from planets evil, powers and snakes" When such is stated, that 10 Mukhi pacifies all negative planetary energy, is there therefore any need for me to wear other Mukhis like 7 (Saturn) etc to protect against any planet specific negative influence seen in horoscope or other dangers? Or wear other Mukhis to attract blessings of fortune etc? It seems like 10 Mukhi is all auspicious by itself..! Looking very much forward to any comments and insights on this, I am just a neophyte so far with no practical experience of the divine blessings and science of Rudraksha, so please forgive any ignorance on my part with asking these things. Guest guest
Dear Ole Ji Yes you are correct regarding the 10 Mukhi Lord Visnu Rudraksa.........If intent is to pacify the 9 planets only......... then this is the main Rudraksa needed......for additional help at times of Saturn Return many people naturally add the 7 Mukhi Goddess MahaLakshmi because in addition to adding extra weight to the pacification of Saturn this Highly Auspicious Rudraksa also gives wealth in all areas of life from physical to Spiritual What am saying is that althogh pacification of Planets is a most important issue there is also....... much more........... in addition to pacification of Planets that needs attention in the intricate process of Life........ that is represented by Karma Dharma Artha Kama and Moksa Specific to Karma there are two Highly Auspicious Rudraksa that are considered companion Beads in the process of removeing Karma. The 3 Mukhi Agni Rudraksa is credited with removeing past Karma and the 5 Mukhi Kaalagni Rudraksa is credited with removeing present moment Karma. We wear the 10 Mukhi Lord Visnu Rudraksa in combination with the 3 Mukhi and 5 Mukhi Beads to pacify planets and to remove Past and Present Karma The concept of .......Fullfillment of all desires...... can be a two edged sword if Karma has not been removed or neutralized Hope this helps a little My Friend Thanks and Take Care DharmaDev alstrup <alstrup <> Saturday, August 02, 2003 8:30 PM Re: RBSC : Can Vaishnava devotees wear Rudraksha? Guest guest
Dear Dharmadev Ji, This is very important information! I wonder why I was not advised to wear 3 Mukhi Agni Rudraksha along with the 5 Mukhi Kaalagni Rudraksha to be put in the current suggested personal mala. But perhaps that is due to Ms. Neetha initial examination of my horoscope based on the birthdate that I submitted to her perhaps that she didnt include it...but surely I would need that also..? Guest guest
Namaste Oleji: I do not recall what beads were in the recommendation you received, but they are very specific to the individual based on the personal astrology. It takes great merit to come into contact with rudraksha and sometimes that act is enough to clear great karma..simply knowing about rudraksha. You may want to concentrate on the beads that were suggested for you for 40 days and then decide after if you need other beads. I was not recommended 3 or 5 mukhi in my initial recommendation. Subsequently I purchased some beads and made a separate mala and eventually went back to my original recommended combination. I was glad that I had the experience with the 3 and 5 as well as other rudraksha that I have acquired that were not recommended. Everyone is different in their needs and eventual relationship with the rudraksha, so can only share my personal experience. Perhaps that will be of some help to you. Take care. Guest guest
Dear Oleji Namaskar My Friend....Yes is known that great care needs to be exercised when recommending the Holy Rudraksa...especially for the first wearing.............The first combinations recommended to be worn...... that will effect positive change........ need to be balanced to your current situation and the need to resolve problems in the most calm and easy manner possible Positive change is a good experience however too much positive change at one time can be a shock to the Neurophysiology......There are some who are at a place in Life who can wear a full Siddh Mala with Higher Mukhi Beads added the first time they wear........... and then there are others who need to approach the first wearing experience with a different combination of Rudraksa Hope this helps My Friend Dhanyawaad cha Pranams Mitra DharmaDev alstrup <alstrup <> Saturday, August 02, 2003 10:25 PM RBSC : Re: Can Vaishnava devotees wear Rudraksha? Guest guest
Dear DharmaDev, OK, I think I understand. Are you saying that wearing a 3 Mukhi Agni Rudraksha will initiate a purification process and some people cannot wear 3 Mukhi initially due to an internal energetic effect of purification from negative karma being burnt? Or will 3 mukhi just by Its Grace neutralize the effects from past negative karma. I read that Padma Purana says that "Nothing inauspicious happens due to wearing of Rudraksa of three mouths i.e. when a Rudraksa of three mouths is worn on one's person." I understand that to include also that there would be no "detox" experienced due to wearing 3 Mukhi. But maybe Padma Purana is talking about a context for people with brahminical qualities? Can the horoscope show if 3Mukhi is prohibited and for what reasons? Thanks, Ole , "ShiningLotus" <shininglotus@c...> wrote: > Dear Oleji > > Namaskar My Friend....Yes is known that great care needs to be exercised when recommending the Holy Rudraksa...especially for the first wearing.............The first combinations recommended to be worn...... that will effect positive change........ need to be balanced to your current situation and the need to resolve problems in the most calm and easy manner possible > > Positive change is a good experience however too much positive change at one time can be a shock to the Neurophysiology......There are some who are at a place in Life who can wear a full Siddh Mala with Higher Mukhi Beads added the first time they wear........... and then there are others who need to approach the first wearing experience with a different combination of Rudraksa > > Hope this helps My Friend > > Dhanyawaad cha Pranams Mitra > > DharmaDev > > alstrup <alstrup> > <> > Saturday, August 02, 2003 10:25 PM > RBSC : Re: Can Vaishnava devotees wear Rudraksha? > > > Dear Dharmadev Ji, > > This is very important information! Guest guest
3 mukhis are not prohibited. If you got a recommendation based on your jyotish then the reccommendations were based on specific planetary influences. Now say you have eye problems or whatever, then maybe some other planets might have a specific influence as well. So it goes then that not all planets were recommended at one time. But in order to cover the full range of this experiencial realm of dependant causation then a Siddh mala really is tops. Best of Luck. - alstrup Monday, August 04, 2003 4:20 PM RBSC : Re: Can Vaishnava devotees wear Rudraksha? Dear DharmaDev, OK, I think I understand.
