Broken bracelet

Greetings, all

I recently acquired a Saraswati bracelet and after wearing it for

just 3 days, it simply snapped. Broken. Quite incredible you know

because it was made with wire. I just put it back in its bag on the

altar and that was it.

Should I repair it or use it for another mala ?

Somehow I feel as if it had fulfilled its purpose. But so soon?

Maybe I didn't need it after all?

Dear Tiinaji:

As Syji mentioned in one of her recent sharings, what one does with a

broken mala is purely up to the individual's own inclination,

intuition and heart.

It is not unusual for a mala to break in less than a week.

My first wrist mala did. Was on elastic and elastic was in shreds..I

thought maybe because I did so much japa :-) I restrung mine.

Malas breaking are always a sign of karma being released.

The qualities of the rudraksha are so powerful..really think it is

impossible for a person to own one that they don't need.

Namaste Tiinaji & Sis Kantiji,

Sis Kantiji has put it very well when she said "Malas breaking are

always a sign of karma being released."

And yes, above all, please use your intuition as a guide.

In a recent posting about mala breaking, it was specifically about

the "Rudraksha-Sphatik Japa Mala" (which I found to be a powerful

Deva/Devi-Shakti synergistic combination.. I cannot speak for others

of course because everyone has individual experiences with malas.

But to some classical tantrikas that I'd shared this with, it makes

sense to them). In regards this particular combination of rudraksha-

sphatik, after long use, the rudrakshas change color and shrink in

size and the sphatik no longer has the same lustre.

I absolutely resonate with Kantiji's wisdom that rudrakshas are so

powerful that its impossible for anyone to own one that they don't

need. This I find to be very true in my own use of them.

In the case of a Saraswati bracelet, the wire may snap but this does

not mean the Rudraksha beads become void in quality or effects. When

the wire snapped, think of it as a blessing: darkness/ignorance/some

kind of block was dispelled to pave the way for "light" and wisdom of

the Goddess of Learning and the Arts.

I mean well in saying this: Good thing it was 3 days, and not 30

years :-) You've indeed received the darshan of Maa Saraswati! in 3

days. An auspicious occasion and one for rejoicing.

Encouraging you to take the bracelet out of the bag, give thanks and

then have it re-strung. Or use the beads for another mala. You will

discover further benefits along the way.

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. Usually when

something breaks, one tends to think it to be a "bad omen".

Quite the contrary this time. In this past week I have suddenly been

blessed with an incredible amount of insight on many issues that have

been bothering me for a long time. And yes, I already am thinking of

using the Rudraksh from the broken mala for another combination.

And althought this might be out of context, I would still like to

share a beautiful passage I came by yesterday with the group:

On the other shore of the waters,

in the center of the Earth,

on the ridge of Heaven,

greater than the great,

by luminous seed

having entered

into the lights of the senses,

the Lord of Creation stirs

within the child.

Mahanarayana Upanishad I.1

Thank you dear friends

Greeetings to the Group,

Kanti made me two wrist malas, one Saraswati and one Lakshmi

(absolutely Beautiful!). Within the first month of wearing, the

Saraswati Bracelet broke all over the place. I was pretty devastated

for awhile and pondered it. I was in need of a nightime neck mala, so

I just took the Beads and Gems, cut the Saraswati Bracelet and made a

short nightime neck mala out of all my recommended beads,(7)--7

mukhi, (3)--4 mukhi and (3)--6 mukhi with the spacers and Gems.

Worked out great for myself, as far as the Beads go--They still love

me :) Being a male and all, I tend to bang my hands around..so the

neck is a better place for me to wear the Rudraksh.

Namaste Tiinaji,

Not all things that break, indicate 'bad omens'. It depends on what

breaks and how it breaks and some other factors. Delighted to hear

you've gained insights on previous bothersome matters (darkness

removed and light dawned :-). Glad you're also going to use the beads

for a new combination! Thank you for sharing the lovely verse too.
