Guest guest
We have discussed the beads as astrological remedies, and the fact that one cannot harm oneself by wearing a bead representing a malefic planet. My Vedic chart is pretty grim. This is obviously a working incarnation. And, I found that, for many years, that chart was pretty accurate. Predicted events did come to pass. Clearly, some karmic debt is being worked out. Working incarnations do tend to be uncomfortable. However, since I have been wearing the beads (not quite a year), I have found that my chart has become pretty irrelevant. The grim Rahu/Rahu dasa that was predicted has, instead, manifested as a particularly positive, fortunate, and upbeat period. It has been a very happy time, and just seems to be getting better. Physical manifestations have included improved health, raises and a promotion at work, a happy engagement, and more. That is, instead of the illness, accidents, and losses that were predicted, the reverse has manifested. I'm no physicist or Vedic scholar, but I understand that we bring energy patterns into each incarnation, caused by earlier ones. It's clear that wearing the beads breaks up those old energies, and replaces them with clearer, healthier, and more elevated energy patterns. That must be what is meant when it is written that rudraksham can "remove sins." I think that they also must protect by dissolving the karmic energies that attract problems. They help us "change our ways" so we don't keep thinking and doing things that hurt us. I know that I've said this before, on this list (so, please forgive the repetition). And, my observations are pretty obvious. But, after a year, the wonderment of the blessings of the living jewels of the Gods never ceases to amaze me. For those that might still be concerned about wearing a bead that represents a difficult planet-- there really are no "inauspicious" beads. I wear beads representing all of my malefic planets--and the benefics. It works well. I've just finished my little ritual of cleaning, scenting, and oiling my beads. It's like a meditation, and a communication with t

Guest guest
That's because I got too wordy. It's my Irish genes. <g> I could have made my point in just a couple of sentences: 1) Wearing the beads can take one past the limitations of one's innate karmic energy patterns (as seen in the Vedic birth chart) to the point where one needn't rely on astrology at all, anymore. The energies one was born with get changed. Karma falls away. You stop "getting in your own way." The beads can make one free in many ways. Including free of rebirth. 2) Unlike gem therapy, one can't wear the "wrong" beads. (I also DO think that one can wear the "wrong" gems without harm, in a gem and rudraksha mala). 3) If one meditates daily, the relationship with the beads will build faster. The beads also improve the depth and quality of the meditation, and 4) Cleaning, scenting and oiling the beads regularly not only makes them stronger, but it's a great meditation. It enhances one's relationship with the beads. One caveat-- the beads won't make life perfect. If there weren't problems to solve, there would be no point in birthing and rebirthing into this "school." But, in cases where karma HAS to be worked through by an uncomfortable experience, they will "soften the edges" of the experience. Guest guest
Namasthe, Please tell me what kind of meditation is helpful to buildup the relationship with rudraksha beads. Guest guest
Namaste Baskarji, Kariji and Respected Friends, Sis Kariji and friends, this one's for you. Please share your input and impart your wisdoms for our dearest Baskarji. My very humble perspective is too difficult to explain without typing a very long message that will bore everyone. Everybody's path and/or sampradaya is different. Mine, to put it simply: live it, breath it, adore it, worship it, walk it, etc. Being alive is meditation. Being alive is also Yoga past the asanas. Guest guest
I prefer a Shiva mantra, with rudraksham, since they are Shiva's tears. I used DDji' mantra- "Om Nama Shivaya, Shivaya Nama Om."
