Guest guest
Dear All, Namaskar When Rudraksha beads are blessed/sanctified in Shiva temple in Nagpur on behalf of Rudra Centre, are the offerings performed directly to the respective deity respresenting the particular Mukhi or is it a generalized offering to Lord Shiva for all the various Mukhis? How many times a year are beads offered? Is it only done in the Nagpur temple? What is the name of that particular temple? (only pictures at Rudra website) Has anyone here been present at one of these offerings? Thanks, Ole
Guest guest
Namaskar At http://www.rudraksha-ratna.com/htm/blessings/index.htm, the text is there used for the temple blessings of the beads. I guess this is the exact text used at the Shiva temple in Nagpur. From what Vedic and or Agama text is the offering coming from? Not all the text is translated and explained. There seems to be invocation to Lord Vishnu also. For some reason, the links to enlarge the pictures are not working, I would really like to see these in original size! Whom to contact about this technical glitch? Thanks, Ole , "alstrup" <alstrup> wrote: > Dear All, > > Namaskar > > When Rudraksha beads are blessed/sanctified in Shiva temple in > Nagpur on behalf of Rudra Centre, are the offerings performed > directly to the respective deity respresenting the particular Mukhi > or is it a generalized offering to Lord Shiva for all the various > Mukhis? Guest guest
I can't anwser all of your questions, Ole. And, the folks who can are all out of town, at the moment. But, I know that each bead is blessed before it is sent out. I don't know where the puja comes from scripturally, but I know it is authentic. I have seen it described, in detail, on other distributors sites, as well. There are instructions on bead blessing several places on the Net. It looks like everyone is doing pretty much the same thing. You can also order a CD of the bead blessing puja. I think that what Rudra Centre is doing is simply standard Hindu religious practice. Though my personal opinion is that since the beads are "born divine," they work with or without blessing. Who can bless Lord Shiva? Guest guest
Dear Oleji, Namaste All is Shiva. Who can bless Lord Shiva? Nothing except Maa Kali, the highest form of Shiva. Priests, etc. when "blessing" rudraksha "give respect, honor, dedication and devotion" *Metaphorically Speaking*, during the blessing ceremony. Say I have a murthi. It is asleep till woken up with puja, etc. Traditionally one goes to a temple, priest or swami, etc. to have items sanctified. In any case, rudraksha are born divine. Even an unblessed rudraksha will work, depending of course, on individual perceptions and beliefs. I'm open to all. I have mine sent unblessed when in hurry. Once plonked round my neck, it shows signs of "life" stirring. Blessed or unblessed by priests and holy men, it is one's bhakti and shakti that perserveres in the end. I have the name of the Nagpur temple somewhere. Visited so many temples all over India that my head spins from trying to remember exact names and locations. Get back to you with the name when I recall. Hopefully soon. Pls bear with me. Om Namah Shivaya Shivaya Namah Om Much love, Sy , "alstrup" <alstrup> wrote: > Dear All, > > Namaskar > > When Rudraksha beads are blessed/sanctified in Shiva temple in > Nagpur on behalf of Rudra Centre, are the offerings performed > directly to the respective deity respresenting the particular Mukhi > or is it a generalized offering to Lord Shiva for all the various > Mukhis?
