I heard back from my honey (who lives at at distance), on this.

 

He says:

 

1) Use Norton Anti-Virus, and set it to update every day.

 

2) He says he uses a "router," which is an inexpensive device also

used for a personal network, so you can run more than one computer on

the same Net modem. He says it also makes the computer invisible to

other computers. He says it's just a plug-in.

 

3) Download and use Zone Alarm (free) or Zone Alarm Pro from

Zonelabs.com. The web site explains how it works.

 

He runs a political w/s, and is under deliberate attack by 30-40

deliberately sent viruses per day. No virus has ever penetrated his

defenses.
