Since the holy man has your birth details and recommended gold, then most probably he is recommending what he thinks is best for you. Do not follow anyone's advice just because they give it. Above all, please use your Intuition to guide you. This is the most important factor when wearing something personal. Use your intuition to guide you as to whether you should take off several silver spacers or caps, tie knots in between the beads and elongate the Mala so it reaches your Solar Plexus.
